This Bolt Action could change your life! Terminus Zeus precision rifle shooting

Спорт

Three things I love about the Terminus Zeus bolt action. I’ve been using the Terminus Zeus short action for a couple of years now, and I honestly love it. What’s your favorite custom action for precision rifle shooting? Comment below.
I've tried most of the custom actions on the market, and I keep coming back to this one.

Not a lot of experience with higher end actions but of the ones I have, the Defiance Machine is so smooth and effortless that it's a real joy to shoot. Do you have any experience with Defiance actions to compare them, particularly the feel of the action cycle? That Terminus certainly looks smooth as well.

I picked up an American Rifle Company Archimedes a while back for a project. I'm really liking it. Even with my NF ATACR and their big bolt knob there's plenty of clearance. Really like the bolt face, not having the extractor in the brass during rotation, manually-controlled ejection... list goes on. Sits in an AICS AW with a 7RM bbl.

Excellent indepth review of these actions. The threaded trigger pins are just awesome. The features of this action are priced well. I've been recommending the Zermatt actions due to the price point and its control round feed and ejection. They are also one of the few that offer the PPC bolt face. Currently developing a 22 ARC. Velocity numbers are impressive with a 85.5 Berger reaching 3050 fps. It outperforms the 6mm Creedmoor with 105gr Bergers at 2950 fps currently with recoil similar to 223

Question: when you are feeding the rounds and manipulating the bolt, is the "3rd lug" at the 12 or 6 o'clock position? I want to use AW style mags in my next build and am considering this action vs the GAP Tempest (lug at 6 position when feeding a round). I dont have my AI AT anymore so I cant check but correct me if wrong: I believe the AI's have the "3rd lug" at the 6 o'clock position. Thank you for your video's and feedback.

Bottom line for a precision bolt action is... is it true? If the lugs and bolt face aren't true then it's no better than any run of the mill factory bolt action rifle. I'm not interested in changing barrels and triggers at the range, I want a precision action that is true to the bore so that when mated up with a precision match barrel, I get consistent tack driving accuracy.

You’re not wrong, but then most if not all custom actions are made to very true/tight tolerances these days. Used to be you had to get a gunsmith to true up an action. Not any more if you’re buying a quality custom.

@@PrecisionRifleNetwork I'm sure you're correct, I'd just like to see a smith do some videos with some of the precision actions available on the market and chuck them up to see if they really are true or so close to true that it doesn't really matter. I guess my issue is that these actions are quite expensive and I'd like to know that I'd get what I'm paying for. Even with CNC machining, mass production has a habit of getting a bit sloppy... nature of the beast. Machine bearing surfaces become worn, cutting bits get a little dull, tool heads get a few too many miles, things happen that turn tolerances from .0001 to .001 to .0015 to .002 and so on. It would be nice to know which companies are offering .0001 vs which are offering .001 or more tolerances. I'm probably asking for a bit too much but hey, a guy can dream right?

At the price those actions sell for the fact that you have to purchase a separate trigger should be criminal. That is like purchasing a new car or truck at $80K and you arrive and have to bring your own tires and rims that you purchased separately before you can drive your car or truck off the lot. This is more people with more money than brains! At the insane price they charge for the privilage of ownership they should include a trigger. What is next are they going to make you purchase a bolt separately!

I already responded to your other message, which you deleted, but I'll humor you on this one too. These are custom actions for discerning shooters who want the best, and plan on switching barrels/calibers regularly. These buyers don't want the action company providing a trigger because what if it's not the custom trigger they were planning on purchasing. These people enjoy the build process and most of them want the best available parts. How much something costs is not the priority. This may not make sense to you or given your budget, but that doesn't mean you're justified in calling people stupid and/or insane for their choices.

What a maroon. 😅. When I build rifles I want to choose. Every. Single. Component. You look at a gun like a tool then a $450 Ruger American makes sense. If you look at a gun like it’s a family member you have different priorities and money isn’t one of them.

How is it better than a trued factory action. Be specific! Can you give us measurements that are scientific and repeatable? "This action is more better because it cost more and feels slick!" is not the type of marketing hype I am looking for. How is it better? How can I know for sure if I buy one it is better? What can I or my gunsmith measure to be sure I am getting "god level" precision in machining and materials? I want something I can hold the manufacture too in a court of law anything less is bullshit marketing hype on the level of propaganda! What guarantee will the manufacture give me. If they demand I use a particular gunsmith and barrel to meet said claims name that gunsmith and barrel maker I must use here and now or admit your con men! I doubt you will do it because everyone in this industry is a coward! Prove me wrong! I am one of the few honest men left in this world!

For you, it’s not worth the money. You should stick with a factory trued action.
