The great thing about buying a motorcycle from you that we have a video record of the work done on the scooter.

@BrandonBicasso hmm Achilles heel naww! Just a love for motorcycles and the fascination for the way these machines tic. I remember how my mom used to get pissed at me for tearing things apart just to figure out how they worked. Have fun. My friend when the time is right and the money's right, I'll taking one off your hands.and to think I'll even have a video record of the build. Which mite make it more valuable.

I have a 21 road king with a salvage title that’s immaculate. It needed only cosmetic repairs. New front fender and saddlebags mostly. Just gotta get the title to rebuilt status

I really like what you do. In answer to your question, I would not be opposed to buying a rebuilt bike. But honestly, I'd be more inclined and interested to rebuild one myself. Mainly for the same reasons as yourself. I love the thought of taking a wrecked or damaged bike and giving it new life. And then being able to proudly show off the achievement of accomplishing that task. And not only do you get the satisfaction of rebuilding it/fixing it. But depending on damage and such. I would imagine, it could come out cheaper than if you bought it used or new. So my question is. Where exactly is the best place to find such a project.

  • @BrandonBicasso

Coming out ahead on these projects largely depends on what you’re willing to let stay damaged. A look at the powersport auctions on CoPart.com and IAAI.com will give you an idea on what’s out there. Go off the pictures and price replacement parts. That’s how it starts.

@@BrandonBicasso honestly, I'm hard on my vehicles and equipment. I keep them maintained well. But aesthetically, they are not perfect. I live on a private dirt road in the woods. Another reason this appeals to me. Buying a new bike at a premium price, and then having it trashed over time due to where I live and the road conditions. I would much rather have something older and a little banged up. Gives it character.

Rebuilt newer bikes are no different from us guys that buy basket cases and other separate parts to build choppers…i think you are right rebuilt bikes offer a great value for the new model bikes! I had always wondered about how salvage bikes worked. Again Brandon love what you do keep up the good work and the super interesting videos…. Id like to see you rebuild an adventure bike like a KTM 890/1190 Adventure or a Harley Pan America or Yahama Tenere 700

That’s true. Custom bikes built from ground up are similar. I was looking at adventure bikes after riding the pan am. I’m interested in doing something similar at some point. Also thought about a Himalayan for the price.

I think it depends on who works on it. With bikes I am sure there is more pride in the work as bent frames etc can be dangerous. But the car industry is a joke with wreckers taking shortcuts just for profit. I know someone who bought a used car all rebuilt and nice looking. The kid was in a major accident and nearly died as they ICBC Re Certified (Government run Insurance company) had no airbags reinstalled! That scam cost the insurance hundreds of thousands in injury claims. I would definitely buy a rebuilt from Brandon, but wiry or who to trust. There are some incompetent mechanics out there including a certain Harley dealership.

Nice explanation video ... If banks & insurance companies are really financing/insuring these rebuilds, that puts you on the edge of a brand new market. It remains the problem that most dealerships will not touch a rebuild bike. An independent shop might, but that's still iffy too .... Will keep watching

I wouldn't have any problem buying a rebuilt bike. Nothing wrong with saving a few bucks. I buy guitars. I go for demo models, slightly blemished, a little "handling damage". If they are still functional and do what they are supposed to do, I have no problem with a little wear and tare.

Demo models is a good hack. Can buff out a lot of the scuffs in the clear coat on most bikes.

Depends on how much I sell them for. If I sell the Low Rider and Super Chief for $15k each, I’d make around $2k each. Even though I’m trying to make a profit, (to buy more projects, content, beef the tools up) it’s still a fair deal I think.
