Spoiler alert ‼️ Cheers all and thanks for watching!!! It’s a British Brown Ale
I always brew over several days. Takes the stress out and less cleanup if you clean as you go. No chill means no pumps or hoses to clean, no chillers to clean. Love it.

Definitely makes it easier to brew more often when you split it up, cheers 🍻

Yay for British Brown! Splitting the brew day is such a good hack. In with the mash then go take care of everyday business. Only downside is the late night cleaning…

It’s almost like Mr. Keen himself released a long brew day for brulosophy recently!
Did a delayed start on my last brew day and it was a game changer. Was finished brewing and cleaned up with wort in the fermenter by midday. It’s still in fermenter now. Hoping it turns out well. Hazy pale ale.
Love it!! The brewtubers just did an experiment with this style recently. Everyone brewed the same base recipe but swapped out the yeast. I am going to have to brew this up soon!! Slainte!

Brew a Kentucky common. It’s a great alternative to cream ale this time of year. I brewed one professionally, using local grains and wild harvested yeast (isolated by bootleg). It was wonderful during our brewery bluegrass weekend.

Ha, I moved to Nürnberg last week and brewed a Kentucky Common when I lived in the rural surroundings. I brewed my fair share of Cream Ale, but I didn't expect the KC to be so caramely. Still a great style. What was your recipe like?
Newcastle used to be my go to in my early beer days, need to make an british brown someday to relive my glory days

Awesome video! Really wanted a good Brown Ale a while back. Haven’t had much time to brew lately, it’s been almost a year since I brewed last. Really itching to get back into it. Another underrated style is dark mild. Was hoping you were brewing one because I almost brewed one this weekend, but once again ran out of time. Anyway appreciate the videos, cheers! 🍻

I thought you'd do a Best Bitter / ESB! Love the idea of splitting up the brewday. And I'm in the same boat, I really don't enjoy brewing when I squeeze a brewday in if it's very busy. The ease and the relaxing vibes just disappear.
I brew a British brown ale for Thanksgiving. Its an awesome style

I like a good brown ale. I made one with Wyeast 3068 and fermented at around 65 degrees to get some banana esters. It came out really great. I'm going to do another one once I kill off either the cider or dunklewiess. I only have the 2 kegs. ;)

@@ElementaryBrewingCo I wasn't too sure at first and was planning to give it away to friends and family, but after trying it, I kept it all to myself. I gave some to visitors, but didn't give out any 6 packs to anyone. LOL
Based on the hopping I would probably go for a brown ale as opposed to a mild. But it made me want to fid some milds to drink.

Great video! My brew days are a lot like yours! I just try my best to fit it in with all my family activities😊 I really like the idea of adding cold water to cool the wort down. I am also thinking about swapping out my 10.5 foundry for the 6.5 gallon. Are you enjoying brewing on a smaller system? Cheers!

I was totally confident you were brewing a brown ale especially when you added Target the accountants bittering hop from the 1970's (UK hops then usually low alpha acid, target high alpha = savings) but your German hops threw me. I can see the twist now though. Might give that a try. Good job 😁
@ElementaryBrewingCo

It's just a style that's not too popular in my opinion. But it's a really good beer if done right. I'd like to make another one down the road. My grainbill looks very similar to the color of your beer. I couldn't get target hops so I substituted for EKG and I always buy fuggles

How did it go with the top up? You have inspired me to try it out, I usually do 12 litre brews and top up with 2 litres of cold water and leave it to cool overnight and pitch next day. Next brew day I'll top up 4 or 5 litres and see how cool I can get it. Cheers

Went great! Made a 2.75 gallon batch, racked the wort at 85F to the fermenter, topped up with about 2.25 gallons of water at 40F and it brought it down to 65F. Really helps when the ground water temps are high! Cheers 🍻

my wife would kill me if i tried to brew in the middle of the week after work.. lol but I've done several friday night/after the kids go to sleep brew days and they've worked ok for me. Set the anvil up, delay brew to start after dinner. by about 8:30 or 9 when the kids are in bed its heated up and ready for me. problem is by 1am i'm finishing up and having to clean while not making too much noise and being tired... The key here, as you said, is to have as much ready to go as possible to save time.
