This may be my all time favorite FutureAZA video. Thank you for making and sharing. It was great to see everyone in person (though I only caught some of these guys from a distance), but it's also great to add to those memories with great little appendices like this. God bless, and Godspeed on your journey out west and back up to Leftland. Enjoy!

LFP batteries sure are user friendly, as found in recent Tesla RWD Model 3's. Routinely charge to 100% and drive until reaching the low single digits before recharging🥰 Love to see Jordon! Didn't recognize him at first when he was on stage due to the hat!

What about CATL M3P batteries? What are the ranges of energy density improvements over LFP or other batteries? Are they only available from catl or is this something that will be coming out from other battery makers? We know there’s a cost curve for batteries (wrights law). Is there an equivalent weight curve?

LFP is still improving, so they're likely to see continued energy density. LFP is out of patent, so anyone can make them. Tesla appears to be set to start making some, but BYD and CATL are already giants in this chemistry, and they each use novel approaches from one another.

You're having too much fun in Muskegon without fishing. The most compact shape for LFP batteries is rectangular box, why go cylindrical when LFP needs to increase density already? This was great insight into 4680 production. A dry cathode could be big news for the 4680's.

When discussing batteries why do you never talk about mining, refining, assembling of battery materials. No one is building new copper mines (capital costs and risks of Africa) and the big ones are running out of good quality ore. More and more energy (diesel / coal) is needed to produce the pure metal. Forget about lithium think graphite, forget iron and phosphate think aluminum (power requirement to refine). Remember if the price of copper goes 10x then buildings will still buy but EVs not so much.

So you think we have to talk about every commodity? Plumbers use copper and pvc, based on petroleum. Probably way more. And Electricians. So I haven't heard a lot on copper, besides it is being stolen. And that is a big problem.

..humm a whole lot of...what about isms. You are aware of how much copper is used when building a home or Apartment structure...yet we are not slowing down building. The industry knows that more houses are needed..due to demand. What about that? I can engage in ...what about isms...as well....commonly referred to as FUD. Do you think industries are inflexible and unable to adapt to material needs? I'm betting you didn't even know that houses can use aluminum lines. With just about every light being led there is no concern for arching (expansions/contractions) due to the extremely low voltage. Additionally you are laboring under the assumptions from designs and buildings with older voltage architecture...your premise precludes adaptation and innovation...which is taking place right now. This comment will age poorly just like the FUD around lithium.
