THIS Batman Analog Horror Is Better Than The ENTIRE DCEU
Batman Analog Horror by @Siltrics is fantastic! There's a lot of substance to it, and an interesting horror take on the DC Universe and a surprising look at what Bruce Wayne and Batman as a whole would become if Alfred was never present in his life. The storyline of the series is so intricately woven with Batman taking out his vengeance through more drastic means.
The series is building up to a climactic point as of now with the Batfamily and many other groups coming together to put an end to the Bat and so far has been a very intriguing journey, and I'm going to discuss my theories as to where I think this analog horror series will go, my personal findings in it, as well as what I feel the timeline of this alternate Gotham and DC Universe at large will be like. Anyhow, as always, thank you to all who've clicked on this video, and even more so to YOU for reading this description.

Even though it’s a form of venom being used, I like how there’s some vampire motifs. Bruce being emaciated yet having great strength, the specification of the kidnapped being “turned” by the venom, and how the kidnapped where placed into coffins etc etc. Arguably one of the better versions of “evil Batman” out there Edit: Made this comment before I finished the video, but yeah the vampire possiblity is feasible since there’s definitely allusions to it
My main issue with the series is that it’s supposed to take place in the 60’s, but all of the analog aesthetics are heavily inspired by VHS analog from the 80’s and 90’s. If you watch the Superman analog horror video on the same channel, they used a heavily pitched down version of Starman by David Bowie, which came out in 1972, even though the video is meant to take place in 1962.
@BreathtakingBoredom

You bring up a good point; Siltrics said in a community post if I remember correctly, that this world is significantly more technologically advanced than our world at the time of the 60s, and as such it’s assumed that the technology to create this music and VHS advancement was made much sooner, allowing popular media from our time to come out much earlier in this universe. But I do agree, that does create a bit of time warping and it does get a little confusing.

The idea is decent, but the execution is pretty meh. The entire thing looks like it's a student presentation instead of a real documentary, which I think is the style the creator is trying to aim. It also has a lot of typo error. I think the creator is trying too hard to emulate the style of other analog horror, which isn't bad, but they forgot to take an inspiration from real life, especially with the Arkham announcement. Which is why I think the whole thing is just simply not believable, unlike the other analog horror. The whole idea of analog horror is interesting because it blurs the line between reality and fiction, which this didn't do at all. Gotham 1919-1939 is probably the closest you'll get on Batman's analog horror.

Would have been better if it took place in our world. like the batman comics exist, and THIS happens. Would make you question what was going on, Who is the Batman, Things like that.
Okay, this is what DC should've focused more on when it comes to Batman's Character. The fear of Criminals and Gothamites fear of Batman. The line "Batman, stop yourself!" Would be so scary and cool if it was like a Batman gets dropped into an alternate universe where this takes place. The only thing that comes close to this Analog Horror is "Batman The Silenced" which DC has not continued to this day. Sad. 😢

This is just really unrealistic as far as analog horror goes. Even considering analog horror like Local58 and Mandela Effect - where the tapes being watched are manipulated -, the concept of multiple people making entire tape recordings full of editing, text transitions, suspenseful pauses between sentences and full transcripts of their thoughts just seems like simplistic writing to make something analog horror just for the sake of it. Not even mentioning batman intersecting every single VHS to put corny jumpscares and red text all over them. That alone throws immersion out the window. Not throwing shade at the creator, this definitely just seems like a teen's fanfiction about a Batman horror story, but the way this video uses hyperbolic terms to make this sound like the greatest thing to have ever exist is very intellectually dishonest. Especially with the title of the video, and the video itself trying to exhaust as many extreme words for quality as it can, like this somehow beats multiple products that cost millions to make. No matter how much one likes this story, it's just a very simple narrative that uses the simplest canon from Batman stories, and one that would benefit from being in another format.

So many of these analog horrors are terrible because they include supernatural elements for no reason, with no understanding for story and setup. @drakenforge4276

@@iamnobody350 my headcannon of how this is an analog horror at all is that it's V.H.S. conversions of old super 35 film, since super 8 film released at most 3 years after the events of this series takes place. Still doesn't explain how the batman was able to modify the contents of the super 35 film, since it's just a deranged batman and not an unknowable eldritch being that has the ability to affect our media for it's goals, but I shouldn't think about things like that too hard.

A VHS in 1959?
Everyone forgets Batman is by far one of the most scariest characters in the DC universe because everyone underestimates him from his “no kill rule” but if he snapped it’s horrifying to think someone with that amount of planning and intelligence is something truly horrifying when he kills.
Unpopular Opinion: This version of Batman would be amazing as a DC Elseworlds story.
Its possible that jason could become the red hood honestly
Usually I hate seeing my childhood heroes being turned into horror characters, but this one's definitely cool. It brings a new version of the character we know and love while still mantaining said character's lore's chore traits. Aside from timeline clashing, imagine what an interaction between this version of Batman and Homelander would be like.
It should also be noted that VHS tapes were invented in 1976, so the analog horror aesthetic, while compelling, makes no sense. These videos would most likely be recorded on 16mm film reels and played on a projector, which creates an entirely different feel to VHS.
A nice horror interpretation, but honestly... I find the motivation behind Bruce Wayne turning into a monster really dumb: 1) The state would have provided another tutor for him. 2) Alfred is very important, but it's not because of him that Bruce is "sane". 3) Bruce Wayne has a strong rational mind by nature. 4) The moral sense of justice of Bruce is not just a product of Alfred behaviour. I think that a more realistic version of Batman without kindness and love in his youth is a dark Pulp hero like the Spider, the Shadow or.... The Bat: Always ready to kill their enemies, always with their guns ready, but not psycho monsters.

Right? I think the first murders are done weirdly too. I feel like one would have been enough and got the point across that we’re starting the story with Batman breaking his usual rule immediately. The almost tacked on “oh and he skinned them and made them all bat shaped and removed all of Ivy’s hair” felt very urbanspook too. Didn’t really add anything, didn’t feel necessary… was just kinda silly to me. Felt almost like it was just a shock factor thing, which is a shame because I think the whole concept for this is really interesting. Also I feel it was a bit of a shame to immediately get rid of a bunch of super compelling villains right off the Bat (pun intended) because Man Bat and Ivy in particular could have been SO interesting in this format. I was curious to see what the take on them would have been in this twisted universe and then they were just immediately snuffed out. Hopefully the creator focuses more on the strengths of this series because they are really strong!
This reminds me of that episode of SpongeBob where he and Patrick were screaming while riding that baby rollercoaster.

I think another thing that could work is that the Bruce of this universe ended up making a deal with Gotham itself to gain his abilities. It's been implied in the comics that something off about the city itself, like something draws in or causes the tragedies that happen. Or Gotham is a entity in of itself. Either way, this series is very interesting and something I'll keep an eye on as an analog horror fan and massive batman fan. I wonder how the league of assassins will play into this actually. I know it's a long shot but it could be interesting.
I feel like this would be the perfect opportunity for the jester joker's alternate superhero ego to jump in and attempt to stop twisted Bruce Wayne. Personally, I feel like the only person that can stop him at this point is Spider-Man or symbiote Spider-Man.
The thing with Analog Horror is it tends to work best in two specific circumstances Discovery and Exploration. Discovery is the case of someone stumbling upon archived media, or a recording or something that awakens or exposes a underlying horror that ends up targeting them. Exploration is the ongoing exploration of a anomalous phenmenon in a time period where these analog effects make sense (70s/80s). You have to pick and choose which one you want it to be. It doesn't make sense for random people to be making VHS tapes in the middle of a ongoing story, who will the tapes even be for? Who is even watching them? The issue with Analog Horror is people think it's some new catch-all brand to horror, it's not. It's a hyper specific niche of horror that needs specific circumstances to work as intended. It's like Lost Media, but if the Lost Media was covering up something larger and something you have no control over.
I think that he might be using a Lazarus Pit, actually. This is exactly what would have happened to Batman if he was more like Raas. It could also explain the coffins.
It's bad, because: -too many "screamers". It just follows same structure: text, creepy text and screamer. It's sad. -violence, like " Batman killed them and took their skin and reshape it into batman and he's so scary!!!". Looks like school student writing -a bit edgy, maybe too much I think it would be much better if he was less fantastical, maybe more like realistic (same way as Joker). Like, there's no Croc as big mutant, more like gang leader, there's no Superman and so on. It would be more creepy because you start to believe in this. It's much easier to believe in crazy psycho who murders criminals rather than supermutants
Neat video😙 I liked what you talking about today with the batman analog horror
The premise is neat but it falls into the same traps as plenty of other analog horror ventures leaving it feeling more tacky than scary. I think there’s more that can be done with the concept though and there’s clearly already lots of thought put into it

13:02 I love the subtle hint with the Robins and Batgirls coming first om the list the third name would have to be the third sidekick, combined with the barely legal but clever detective work all pointing at it being Tim Drake.
I really enjoy Siltrics' work. The DC analog horror he produces is great. It's so detached from what we know from the characters, but at the same time, is really in line with what the characters could have been if circumstances were different. I've never really watched analog horror series themselves, often just watching recap videos much like this one. Except for Siltric's work. I love all things comics, and this just hits the right cord with me. Enough so that I actually keep up with the series outside of the summary videos. I know Siltrics is experiencing a lack of motivation and discouragement from all the analog horror gatekeepers saying "Ughm acktually this cannot be analog horror because [insert reason here]" and "this isn't the Walten files/Mandela catalogue". But it's not supposed to be. It's something different. Something just as interesting and fascinating, with just as much heart and soul poured into it. I sincerely hope he continues making these for as long as he's enjoying doing so. They're well made and tell a fascinating spin on already beloved characters.
I thought u had like 10k subs dude, good work. Just subscribed
One problem with this. VHS first commercially available in 1976. Yes, VHS technically exist in 1960s but was only intended for professional use. It turns into an overdone generic powerpoint slide with occasional spooky image and VHS filter. Should have at least use film scratch effect. The quality also too HD for its era. One video looks like it uses arial font which created in 1980s. I personally not a fan of analog horror like this because it's so generic. It should have been done like batman 1919-1939.

Bruh this in a universe with a Crocodile human hybrid, a guy who turned himself onto a literal bat, a plant lady, and an alien who looks exactly like humans while being able to fly and shoot lasers from his eyes. How is having VHS tech a few years early too much for you yet you're fine with everything else?

@@reidbishop7965 Analog horror dependant on the alternate reality element. It's a freaking modern found footage genre. Something that's supposedly actually happened in the past with this recording as proof. This thing broke the suspension of disbelief. So if I make blair witch-like found footage movie sets in 90s but has everyone has Iphone that makes it okay because it has some fantasy element to it? No because that's stupid as hell. Also who says I am fine with anything else? This is the most creatively bankrupt idea of all time. This type of stuff has been done to death. It's not original. It's just something that's dark for the sake of it.

@2ndeaster Supposedly actually happened? Brother maybe that works for original series' like Mandela Catolog or Local 58 but this DC You're making mountains out of molehills about a fun what-if horror story. Sure it has its problems but it's pretty obvious that this was just made for fun and wasn't meant to taken so seriously

@@reidbishop7965 why settle for mediocrity. It's obvious the creator is just chasing trends without making it stands out and the best they can do is what if analog horror of evil batman.

@2ndeaster as if you could do any better lmao, don't you have anything else to do with your day other then whine like a b1tch?
30th subscriber! Hope you continue and get somwhere bro! I love watching breakdowns and analysis videos on stuff like this as its much easier for me to take in/understand and i get to enjoy it too! I would suggest maybe slowing down you speech some, not a ton that its too slow but it felt a bit too fast to probably digest what you were saying ☺️ good video tho!

Thanks! And yeah, I was wondering exactly that as well, initially I thought I was going to slow so I thought I’d talk a bit faster, but then I felt I was going to fast and so I slowed down lmao. Thanks a ton for the advice though, I’ll definitely implement it into my next vid!

@@BreathtakingBoredom no problem! We all start somewhere, you'll get a good flow for it as you keep going ☺️
My only critique would be the VHS optics in tapes dated during a time where they didnt exist. A film optic would have been cooler tho im unsure if something like a 8mm filter exists (well made) They might have been converted into guess but yea. Still a great series!
I'm headcanoning this as a timeline that happens in the Dark Multiverse
Wait, so the VHS tapes were made over 10 years before vhs was invented? (1971-76)
Dude, Jason’s drawing of Batman is like something straight from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, I love it.
Konrad Curze energy fr
I can imagine this is what living on Nostramo during the reign of Konrad Curze must've been like.
This really is "what if gotham had konrad curze"
this story shows something many have forgotten - Bruce Wayne is the man, and Batman is the mask, not the other way around it's as important to his character as it is to Clark's
Good analogue horror had mystery and it needs YOU to piece it together (Local 58) Siltircs lays everything out infront of you it's just boring... Batman doesn't feel terrifying after the first episode
I think the coffine have more likely to do with the lazarus pit than vampires because prolonged exposure to the lazarus pits can alter and madden a person's mind along with enhancing the physical capabilities of the individual.
