I think you should do a technique video about keeping composure. A lot of people, including me, can do just fine sparring/going live (depending on the sport), but once we hit an actual match/fight, can't move like in practice.

Anxiety induced rigormortis is a bitch lmao. For me, it was just an experience thing. After my 3rd or 4th fight I wasn't nearly as nervous. It started feeling more like a sport than an actual fight, if that makes sense. It went from terrifying to fun within a handful of fights. Ofc the fear of getting starched is still present and is necessary to an extent, but I don't let it stop me from pulling the trigger on hooks, overhands or kicks anymore. I was a 1 2 1 2 machine when I first started lol

Its a mental thing i believe from my experience it was wierd for my first fight i had no fight nerves i was just ready and did well though nerves is not a bad thing my other fights i had a bit more nerves. For me personally its a matter of accepting im gonna get hit but just to go along w/ it and fight back because its a fight.but everyone is different.

Thompson is right on with his mini-sermon at the end. If more men were actually in (controlled) fights, and knew what it was like to get their bell rung, there would be a lot LESS trash talk, and a lot less violence.

Head aim points -- 1) temple / outside of the orbital bone (round -- especially elbows), 2) tip of the nose (linear), 3) chin (linear) or lower jaw (round), or 4) brain stem (if you're in a self-defense situation).

You should be watching your opponents reactions and aiming for the open shots. Always setting them up with something to cause them to expose that open shot. I tend to target somewhere between the tip of the chin, to the ear, to just below the brow, back to the chin for the face. In the body, liver on the right, and lower floating rips on the left, bread basked down the middle. Legs, inside thigh, outside thigh, and rear of the lower leg by setting it up with a combo to get out to the side to avoid the check.

Wonderboys closing point about not running your mouth is sooooo true. Back in DC, i used to go to the 24 hour McDs on M Street when I was drunk and hungry at like 2am. One time I was there, and two guys got to talking shit. One guy was much bigger, so he was talking way more, leaning into the other dudes face, classic stuff. Shorter guy had his hands behind his back fucking around with his bag, and then he whipped his hand out and hit the dude in the face with a fucking brick. Only person more floored than me was the guy he hit with it lmao. So yeah, no tussling with strangers for me, dude might have a brick

If I'm not throwing close handed strikes, then hitting them in the forehead is often something they aren't quite prepared for. Have had good success aiming for the pterion but again if throwing open handed, the ears are the old go to. In an actual fight I'd be aiming for the cheekbones but I don't want to break anyone's bones in a friendly competition. I'd also use my elbows in a real fight. I wonder what streetbeefs thinks of bone strikes. Come to think of it, I don't see them in the UFC either. Are they one of those techniques that are illegal?
