From a quick search, it seems like the M339 is the result of Israel believing the concept of MPAT is silly(and it is), where this is effectively their multipurpose round, meant to target bunkers and APCs, hence their very high fuse distance. The time round is to meant to shoot into the window of a structure and explode in the middle of it.

there's been a few times that i've commented trying to get him to play that tank and when he finally noticed, it was not my comment. either way having heatfs at 4.0 is insane. you can dev bring an ikv 103 up to a 7.0 game

It’s useless to have that much pen at such a low BR though, as 200mm is easily enough to go through anything. It’s just a low velocity shell that can’t go through fences, and the HEAT jet often doesn’t one-shot.

13:04 the Khrizantema-S doesn't even need thermals to shoot through ESS smoke, since it has radar, which also allows it to shoot through the type of smoke that thermals can't see through.

I watched a Documentary from the Bundeswehr on this, but the Leopards do get a programmable HE shell that can be used as a normal He shell, exploding on contact or as a SAP shell. In game it simply has 11mm of pen but it should be more (thats what im guessing, since it says that" it pens fortifications after a certain ammount of time"). Video is called: "Der Kampfpanzer Leopard 2: Technik I Bundeswehr" at minute 4. The Merkava could be joined by a Leopard... correction: im a dumbass and didnt realize that its actually 37mm of pen, doesnt mean you couldnt try it (and i took way to much time making this comment so i wont remove it) Good video btw :D

m339 has a listed penetration for 200mm of double reinforced concrete , would not be surprised if the German one had similar performance. (Who wants to do the math for converting concrete to rha? not me)

You can't directly compare steel and concrete as they're different materials that projectiles will behave differently against. I can imagine a big, heavy, and slow projectile does well at penetrating concrete but it pretty awful for penetrating steel.

Just tried it on PvE with the STRV 122, can confirm, you can one shot anything as long as you can see their roadwheels at a 90° angle. For leopards and challengers, the commander's port seems like a big hindrance.

Not sure if that is video that has been done, but I would love to see the AMX-13 DCA 40, little creature with something crazy like 90mm of pen.

I love that tank where it floats on water, has over 1000 crew members and fires 356mm guns.

11:46 Airbursted, is correct, since you can verb anything.

Gaijin released the 2024 roadmap and for the summer update there is a mention of adding more options on how to use shells with fuzes, so perhaps that would make it easier to use this shell with a rangefinder, if you can disable the time fuze and just use the shell in the point detonation delay mode after rangefinding. there is a mention of reworking how APHE shells work to be more realistic as well, although that change will depend on a community vote.

I like how people, experienced in WT, react to munitions actualy dealing damage in their game. This says alot about gaijin game design. Its literally 4.77 kg TNT hitting you at 3240 km/h or blowing under your tank (wich is close to regular AT mine). There is no reason for it not to kill or heavy damage the tank. Also its only found on Israeli tanks wich are used only by like 1% of player base, so probably noone notice.

Day 18 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.

as a Merkava player, I did this at toptier, and you CAN hit the ERA and it will work, you just have to hit the first ones nearest to the gun

11:42 I had that happen to me, except it was the FV4005's HESH against a panther's mantlet. First shell ricocheted off the barrel, the second just phased out of existence after landing between his hull roof and matlet. :(

Something tells me spookston is going to enjoy the Object 292 with its HE shell.

I think this is the most fun I've seen Spookston have in War Thunder GB.

You should try Class 3 (P), one of my favorite vehicles. Really fun. Fast, great gun, big like a barn with surprisingly big survivability.

If I understand correctly this shell is designed to penetrate 200mm of concrete bunkers and to use delayed detonation so hopefully they dont change it's performance too much.

I did some experiments sometimes ago, you can actually use the Merk's HE to kill a BVM simply by aiming at the cheek (yes, the entire cheek area), and the T-90M by aiming at the commander sight. Truly broken overpressure.

It been 4 years ago. I was first mission done 2020 "Merkava Mk.3D" in USA tech tree. I was try use Fuse HE shell. I remembered, kill instantly kill and too "Hull break" T-80 and Leopard 2 fully destroyed. Today i remember this. Never nerf lol

It is a universal round for all wielders of the IMI MG 251 120mm cannon which includes all Mervaka 3s and 4s.

Stock heat on this was absolute hell

you can set the fuze with the lrf and if you aim under the tank the shell will explode and the weak armor on the bottom of the tank will let the explosion overpressure the crew

6:30 the Laser Warning System was pinging because you were being laser targeted by the jet for the guided bomb. Gotta watch out for that.

This things like a high tier chi-ha long gun.

To take out the 2a7 you gotta aim for the grease fitting thats next to the 3/4in bolt and lockwasher behind the front sprocket which connects to a gasket.

I just saw that the new object 292 has the same amount of penetration on an HE round at 9.7, on the test drive it looks really fun

This ammo is working as intended, from my research into it. A nerf would be unwarranted. Manufacturer says the delay fuse can penetrate 200mm of reinforced concrete, and that amount of armor in game is equal to 65mm RHA. Knowing this, I'm sure somebody will incorrectly claim this ammo is in need of a "fix"; but the tech mods *should* shut them down for being wrong. Snail should add more NATO 120mm ammo types to the game. It's been past time for ages that Leclerc gets M3M HE, and M1A2 gets M908 HE-OR-T ammo. Maybe even XM1147 for some more fun. Nothing can save US teams from being useless, but maybe some more ammo will be nice for the handful of good players to mess around with.
