I know a guy in Massachusetts. He was a electrician. I knew who he was because I worked on jobs with him before. He bought a $30 ticket. Him and his wife were living in his moms house saving money for their wedding. The lucky guy won $15 million on the ticket. I was very happy for him. Another time when I was in the city in Boston a rich lady hit $1 million on a scratch ticket sitting right next to me at a coffee shop. We were working in a rich neighborhood. She looked at her friend And said “oh look I just won $1 million” she put it in her purse like it was nothing LOL

I was gonna say this is nothing new to say at the least!!you are 100 percent correct on both statements, the more you spend on a scratch off, the more you win on the ticket;bigger odds. The next clue is (not really a clue, all you do is read the back of scratch off) is the odds are wriiten on the back of every ticket right above where you put your address info etc,so why are they just exploring this now like its a new thing? maybe for people who cannot read or needs glasses!lol

Yea but when you take into account the amount of tickets that are printed for each and every store for those tickets the odds of you being at the right location getting the right ticket at the right time...

The State I live in only tells how many prizes have been won and how many prizes are left but NOT how many TICKETS ARE LEFT TO BE SOLD, this is really the key to increasing your odds and they don't tell you this!!

I've spent thousands, I've used every method under the sun. Looking for the white line which is nonsense, I've had several white line losing tickets, the odds are just numbers they mean absolutely nothing, in fact I've bought several rolls of the $10 scratchers and can attest the odds are wrong they were way off. They get away with their odd numbers by claiming it's based on the whole batch, but unless they were telling us the exact number of the prints it's not going to help you out.

I work two jobs a white collar and a blue collar job. No wife and No kids and no real debt. In 2018 I won $18K and 2019 $6K, however I slightly disagree on the holiday scratchers. The jackpots go fast and I’ve gotten $1k winnings multiple times since 2018 off of them. This year In GA I’ve hit $500 scratchers from the $20 Holiday game 6 times in the month of November.

Congrats on your success man! Do you know how much you spent in comparison to how much you won? You’ve obviously won a lot but I’m guessing you probably play a lot too. I would be surprised if anyone who buys scratch-offs regularly wins more than they spend unless they’re lucky enough to hit big jackpots.

@@timothyj4702 Well I cant tell you how much spent vs won, but i can tell you this, I’ve spent more money going out trying to date girls or on dead end relationships than anything. This includes wasting PTO or opting to not work just to go on a hike with a girl i met at a bar or online. My other hobby, fashion was also something i did on a regular basis. I used to always buy about $200-$400 on clothes every month but once i got to age 40, I stopped doing that and only bought something when it was on sale. So to a degree I’ve done some trade offs to be able to do scratch offs without taking a financial hit.

The web site for my State does not tell you how many tickets have been sold from each game, or the amount of tickets remaining only prizes won and remaining prizes, so they don't give you the MOST IMPORTANT information!!.

I live in California. I certain lottery retailer regularly sells scratcher tickets before the pack of tickets are validated by his validation machine in the store. Meaning before I can electronically scan my tickets at a lottery retail sales location i have to return to that store and complain about the problem. I think this process is a safeguard against a robbery at the store. That would be the only advantage to having this process for the store.....What happens if I buy $100 of tickets from them then 5 minutes later the store is robbed of lottery tickets? .

A comment that was posted for this video peaked my curiosity and I need some of your input and advice about how I (or anyone. Hopefully someone more intelligent than I which isn't saying much) would go about getting a ball park figure as to how much people spend before they actually hit a nice chunk of cash. The post made a very important and I think factual statement saying that the majority of those that do indeed hit the highest payout for any given lottery ticket (anywhere from $1,000-$1,000,000 for the professional player scratch tickets I do believe.) I don't use the word professional to mean anything other than; they spend the highest dollar amount per ticket and all together in buying the scratch tickets period. I'd say ask 10 or 20 random individuals who claim to play and purchase such and such per week or bi weekly and go from there. If I had to guess I believe their winnings and/or wins are within single digits of one another over a 5 year period of time. I'm strictly referring to those individuals that play the lottery on a daily basis and spend the most when they do. Canceling out the persons who may play daily but may only buy the $1 to $3 tickets for the most part. Not "professional" gamblers. I think it would be very cool to see how much on average an individual does indeed spend (and I know Its not going to be a strict amount or even relatively close to that figure but we will see it within a decent range I believe. It will give everyone an idea of how much you will spend and lose before you actually do hit something that puts a dent in that or on occasion passes that number and on even rarer occasions, passes it by a good amount. And it's these types of "wins" that keep you coming back for more and the lottery business eventually gets there cash back and some, if they were even behind that is. Yes there are those rare winners that have hit multiple huge payouts but I think it's so rare that those individuals are probably known by name to the professional gamblers. Lol. Anyway, does anyone have any guesses or estimates. I will make a few predictions tomorrow. I'm exhausted now just thinking about all the cash flowing through the system that those individuals have bled and bruised themselves to have just to take a chance on hitting with odds that are so not in their favor. To the point where if they were given The same odds of crashing on a plane or being involved in a deadly car accident those same individuals would never leave the home.

I understand what you mean when you call the everyday scratcher a “professional”, but I can’t help but cringe a little every time you mention it lol. Like you kinda already mentioned, I assume that people who play a lot are almost always going to be in the red unless they’re lucky enough to win a larger jackpot. As far as odds go with winning/losing I would think that you could get a general idea by looking at the odds on the back of each ticket. For example, if the average odds for the types of tickets you play is 1 in 5 then statistically you should have about a 20% chance of winning. You have to remember too that “winning” could just mean that you won back the money you paid for the ticket (free ticket prize). Everyone obviously has different experiences and opinions on how and what they play. People who do the research like the person in the video will most likely have a better winning percentage but it still seems unlikely that they would have a net profit after years of playing. I assume that the more games you play, the closer you will match the average odds of each ticket.

Thank you so much! I'm going to love increasing my odds from 1 in 100k to one in 50k for those 1$ scratch offs that have the right statistics for the grand prize.

More break even prizes. Remember they have to be able to pay a top prize eventually and the odds for the top prizes are astronomical. They aren't trying to pay more than they get. So let's say it's a $1 million top prize. Imagine all those losing tickets to accumulate just that and winners along the way. It's essentially like playing the lotto drawings. It's like a casino they are going to get their profits. The lotto they win everytime. As soon as someone hits a big prize most of it gets taxed.

The number my State withholds is how many tickets for each game have been sold already. They give you the amount of prizes still available and the amount of prizes won, but if you don't know how many have actually been sold it does not really help. They do this intentionally.

So what about the location of the jackpot winning ticket? With scratch offs and with numerical ball draws knowing the location where the winning jackpot ticket is what would be what you want to know.

Never play holiday cards unless you really feel very lucky. They are horrible. One time i got a $10 holiday card and didnt hit anything. Got a regular 2 dollar card and hit 60 bucks! Holiday cards, cards with lots of "features and multipliers" ... Stay away from those.

Plus if you go to some good spots in the city you can find good winners in the trash. Some people throw away the face value cards, some people throw the money away with the new cards mixed with used winners! The State I live in they tell you exactly how many have been printed for each game. For example most $1 tickets have a printing of approx. 700,000. Then they tell you how many prizes have been won for each dollar amount $1, $10, $50 etc.etc. and how many remaining prizes are left. But they don't tell you the most important number. Which is How many tickets out of the 700,00 have been sold. This is 100% intentional. So it may seem like they are helping you but not really!

I’ve met/heard of multiple people winning most are regular gamblers not hit it and quit types. These people play often…just saying

Of course, when the game starts out, this should always be negative, since otherwise the government would lose money. But due to random chance, some tickets happen to have less of their prizes won early in the game, leaving a positive ROI for later players. The odds on the back of the ticket are only for your chances of winning any prize at all, including a prize where you simply break even I believe, and do not take into account the value of these prizes. These odds are also only for the beginning of the ticket's print and can (and almost certainly will) similarly change due to random chance. Let's use an example where there are 3 tickets left, of $20 each, with one $80 prize remaining. Your chances of winning any prize at all from just one ticket is 1:3, so you probably won't get that prize. But your ROI is still positive, since there are $60 worth of tickets left, and a prize pool of $80, making your ROI 0.3333...

They can still sell while literally paid out. But if you just like the scratching part for fun, and you're not blowing the rent on it, then it's no different that going to the movies. Powerball/big lotto is actually "dumber" I think, because the odds of winning anything are so damn tiny. 1st day, I bright 3, 3$ scratchers, and one 5.00 one. Plus a pick 4. Won 5.00. Put that to two 10.00 scratchers. Won 20.00. Put that back to two more 10.00 scratchers, added 2 Powerball. (4.00) Won 60.00 So. I'm ahead by a few bucks. It was fun and I'm barely using my own money. And bills are paid up. So... I agree that the big lotto is just kinda dumb. But again, I could see the excitement in waiting on the numbers. I actually slowed KZread down because it was too fast to enjoy the tense part. Lol Some of the scratchers are kind of labor intensive. They can keep you busy 20 minutes or so! Lol Basically, I didn't use the bill money and its money I'd have used going out or something in the BEFORE TIMES. So, I didn't really lose anything :)
