That '48 Ford has to be in top 5 coolest on TFL, at least since I have been watching the channel. I do love those first gen F series Fords and the fact that he actually uses it is even better. Would change the tires though, like others have said. If people think that '78 is an "OJ Bronco", it shows they don't know Broncos.

They're 6 or 8 ply tires, they'll generally leak like sieves before they blow unless they're tubed, not like radials that are 1-2 ply.

Cool old Ford F-1 pickup!! I don't know if I'd trust those tires from 1968 though. They'd definitely be getting changed before I put it on the road if it were mine.

As great as these trucks are that '48 F1 has got to be thee best one in the bunch here today! I completely agree with Kase here,...repair that rust and get new bias ply tires for this, and you'd have a solid TEN rated truck here. Those gauges are easy to get working, and don't ever change that speedometer.

Re: the 1948 F1....The rear tires look like Firestone "Town-&-Country" tires. When I worked for the company in the late 80's and early 90's, they still offered that tire, so if he wants to replace with that style tire, check with Firestone (although I would think he'd want to update to radials)...also, Edelbrock still makes a "Super 4" intake manifold for that flathead V8. Its an aluminum intake that allows for a small 4-bbl carb to be installed. Does wonders for the engine (I would suggest a Holley 390).

Great video!!! The Eddie Bauer wsa a treat to see and the guys certainly worked hard on it!!! A real sweet "go anywhere" ride! I own an unrestored (all natural) '50 Ford F-1 with a flathead V8 with all the original equipment that belonged to my Grandfather. I have great memories driving it when I was just 14 and the truck was only 18 years old... The '78 Bronco was a real eye full for sure! I've been inside that truck and the interior is sparkling! Original everything! A fantastic father-son project for sure!!! Way to go guys!!!!

I have not seen a speedo gauge with face markings like that on the F1, anywhere. I've got one. Great ol' pick 'em ups. Mines got a 283 from the early 60's with a two speed power glide, a rare welded rear axle housing with a 9" dana. It is pretty mint and i paid a mint for it...but worth it.

Love that F1. Living in Phoenix I would absolutely have to sneak in a 12v ac system somehow and keep it discrete but then I’d daily the hell out of it till the wheels fell off. 50 year old bias plus and all. That truck doesn’t drive fast enough for a bad tire to be a huge priority. Not according to the Speedo lol. When the tires look that good you just have to roll on em. Idk where you can even find those A/T pizza cutters if you wanted a new set? Don’t think he had a gto in the garage. Looked like a tempest or bonneville as wide as it was and the way the lights were perfectly aligned vertically. Cool concept for a show. Let the viewers also be the content 💡

Thats a bitching 48... too bad its not mine. I can see me welding in all the rust outs and fixing the little indocincracies of a old truck. I can't believe that old flat head hasn't lost a valve seat or other stuff that happens... I have never seen a 95 with standard transmission before. You can make it happen easy enough. I had the 78 before and loved it but someone offered a ridiculous price for it. I found out later that I sold way cheap but for the five he gave me I got a 97 which still looks the same as the 95. I had a 5.9 cummins with a six speed I put in it and then when bills for medical came, I sold it in perfect running order and body wise new for twenty two five. It would of had to be more but forced to sell.... story of my life
