5'9-1/2" with a running jump of 53", wow!! That's like a Philippine version of Nate Robinson...although Nate is 5'9" with shoes. The PBA measurement is without shoes, so with shoes Nonoy would be 5'10-1/2". But still that 53" jump is incredible!

@@ponypower8 I am wondering, Zion, Gerald Green, Morant, Jones Jr. can dunk head over the rim and yet could not reach even 50 vertical jump (with way longer reach than Mark Nonoy). Hmmnn... Iba ba measurement natin sa Pilipinas?

@@saitamasins8321 I think the NBA jump stat you're mentioning is "STANDING vertical leap" or "No Step vertical", basically standing up then bending your knees and jumping straight up. The 53" measurement for Nonoy is a RUNNING jump, wherein you have a short run-up, by backing up, then taking several steps to run and gain momentum before exploding from the ground and jumping. From what I heard, Nonoy touched the very top portion of that "flag" that a player is asked to tap at the peak of their jump. P.S. Nonoy is 5'9-1/2" (without shoes). Gerald Green is "listed" at 6'7", Ja 6'2", so they are much taller than Nonoy, specially Green. So let's assume Green can jump 48" and he is 9-1/2 inches taller than Nonoy, he can still reach higher than Nonoy. ASIDE FROM THAT, you have to consider "HANG TIME", maybe Nonoy can explode and jump really high BUT he doesn't "hang time" so he goes down just as fast as he goes up.

53 inch vertical jump will not be possible. The highest vertical jump is actually 50.5 inch by isiah rivera

@@ponypower8Ton of absolute bullshit in this comment. All the nba verticals you mentioned are approach jumps. The NBA tests standing and approach jumps, and always lists a players vertical as their approach jump. Zion, Ja, Gerald green etc have failed to break a 50” approach jump. Also known as a max vertical. Mark Nonoy supposedly has a 53” running vertical. This is bullshit. Undoubtedly. There’s video of the actual test, and while he definitely jumps high, he is nowhere near the range of 53”. Also, you speak of “hangtime” as though it is a separate thing to vertical jump. It is NOT. Hangtime is directly correlated with your vertical jump. It’s very simple kinematics. The illusion of a longer hangtime is based more around how well someone controls their body midair. It has nothing to do with how long they are in the air. That is completely determined by their vertical (assuming no leg tucking).
