This 3D Background Transformed My African Cichlid Aquarium!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Universal Rocks sent me some amazing backgrounds and decorative pieces for two of my African cichlid aquariums. mIn this video we unbox them, and we get to see one installed in my five foot 90 gallon Malawi tank.

What do you think about the new background? I am super happy with both of them (stay tuned next week for the other install). Check out the all that Universal Rocks has to offer: www.universalrocks.com
When Zenzo says "Uff, that's really heavy" we're all in trouble!

Hahaha
It really is amazing how a simple thing like a background can just make the tank looks so different.
Great video and tanks look great, I picked up some peacocks for my fish room lol
Zenzo, why are you such a sweetheart despite having the build of somebody who'd snap somebody like a toothpick?
I’m looking forward to seeing more of the second Saulosi tank you’re going to set up. That Saulosi tank you have is what got me into African cichlids so now I have my own Saulosi species only in a 125 in my fish room.
That tank looks awesome!

Thank you!
Excellent video as always. For the life of me I can not figure out why this channel does not have well over 100k subscribers.
Much love to you Zenzo!!!!!!!!!!
it looks great !!
Your peacocks are HUGE 👀
Zenzo, the background in the 90 looks great, thank you from NYC. Happy New Year to you and your family...
Love the backgrounds and decor! Thanks for the update
Really pretty!
Nice work Zenzo. The Universal Rocks are a great alternative to real rocks. I have a few FishRoom projects in this new 2023 year as well. It's great to upgrade & rearrange things from time to time to keep things new and fun 😎
Hello Zenso! I'm way behind on my videos! What a nice Christmas present you received! Bravi! I enjoyed the video. And Happiest New Year to you and your family (a little late!). Best wishes!
Great video and love the final look! I am considering a background through Universal Rocks, but worried about fish getting caught behind it, can I still use HOB filter with that, and cleaning it? Do you just use a brush to clean it? It is a pricey investment and just do not want to have any regrets with it.
Can I keep a spotted puffer in a 30 gallon half moon tank?
Zenzo...do you have some Salusi for sale. Can't find any anywhere? Thanks
👍😎 That 90 looks great, background and rocks really are nice. On the background in gym, to me looks like it’s bent the wrong way on the left side, Universal Rocks knows what they’re doing so I’m sure it’ll work. Have a good one Zenzo 🤙

That is called an end cap. It blocks the view of the back of the background when looking in from the side.

I knew you know what your doing, saw that on Zero’s video installing it. Smart thinking. That’s why your the best.

Great... I was going to do 3d backgrounds, but after you struggled to pick that up I don't stand a chance! On the plus side it's not likely to be stolen at that weight... 😂

It might've been a background for a few tanks. Don't let that stop you if you enjoy the product!

@@nabokovfan87 oh, don't worry it was a joke, that price tag might deter me though, but they really do upgrade tanks to the next level.
One thing I always wonder with hollow plastic decorations is what is happening to the water inside of them that can't really circulate with the rest of the water column. Like, does it just stagnate in there or....? Can it cause any issues if it does? They look good though.

A lot of times with plastic (this is a form of resin) they drill circulation holes for water to move. If the holes are too big fish go in and get stuck and die. Also, yes, very valid and you can drill small holes of a very small diameter to allow flow through (or very likely ask them to do that for you). In this installation the rocks are designed so nothing goes underneath or behind them.

I actually go over this in next week’s video, as I did drill some holes in one of the rocks.
Question.... Maybe two. Do you think this is worth the cost? (I understand it's a very nice background and the quality and effort is clear in the product manufacturing) If you had opted for something like a black window tint background and the rocks only as opposed to the designed background, do you think the tank would still look similarly nice?

Every time I add a 3D background, I end up liking them more and feel like they are worth it. I have lots of tanks with black backing (paint, plastic, etc.), and they don’t look nearly as nice.

Put it this way: Cory isn’t a huge fan of the company, yet he buys these backgrounds with his own money to install in all of his tanks.
