How's it doing with the heater behind the background..any issues with temperature (was thinking the heat wouldn't be distributed in the tank)?

The water heater needs to be appropriately sized to the tank, if there is plenty of water movement and is it sized correctly you won't have any issues getting the heat to disburse evenly throughout, I never had issues with the heater touching the background as I only kept my heater at 74 degrees. I no longer have the tank or bg unfortunately

How is this holding up? I have been looking in to getting one of these as well as some rocks? Anything you would do different with install? Silicone the background an option?

No need to silicon the background as long as you can pinch the top part to the aquarium and you have decent sized fish, I sold that aquarium including the background and rocks so unfortunately I can not give you a long term update but honestly I don't see why this wouldn't hold up for years on end, the quality is great. They do sell backgrounds which you can silicone. I now have a 125 Gallon with larger fish

I can tell you from experience, the video does no justice. Especially their holy rock versions. People always admire my rock work in my 150 and never realizing that it’s all artificial.

How do you clean it I have one from 2 years ago and it’s stained from algae

You may need to bleach it and reinstall unless you want to grab a scrubber, dip it in hydrogen peroxide and go at it

will those algae eating fish, clean the background for you ?.. will they work ?
