This is our ideology. We don't kill animals not just cows. We live with all kinds of animals. Whether it's a city. India is the only place in the world where you can share homes with animals like tigers, elephants, and domestic animals. Except for from Australia of course. We have the most vegetarian population and Beef is the most harmful food to cause bad environmental effects. Our boomers are still throwing garbage and loving the white people from the west and their ideology. But our youth is open-minded. Loving every skin color and Desi people, Asian values first. He must be well versed and articulate of what he is doing right now because he has been campaigning for sometime now. He had to talk to volunteers and to thank them,give them a purpose, pump them up, etc. Probably, he also had to talk to the media, schools, etc. to spread his campaign and enjoin others to his mission.

Too bad he's 1 in 100k in a nation of a billion. Every weekend...same beach. They showed you the beach clean and then this reporter than later when it was filthy again.

I think his parents should also be praised. A lot of other kids also have ideas and vision like these but a lot of times its parents who stop and restrict them from doing it. (especially in India)

This movement is exactly the same as our community has been doing now in a city called Ambon, Indonesia. Although we were only starting for a couple of months now, there’s already some changes on the beaches that we cleaned. We called ourselves the Mulung which literally means The scavenger. We have around 30 volunteers where we cleaned the beaches around the city every single week. We hope this kind of movement spread and increase the awareness of our environment. I didn’t expect so many likes. Hope you guys reduce single-used plastic and start doing small things to keep our environment healthy

What I know is the goverments does many things, such as Car Free Day in certain date, planting trees, garden/mini forest in middle of the city, etc. I'm not Jakarta Citizen but I know those from my friend. @@RandomGuy-rc6vd Marxist means something different depending on the country so I would need that info to properly convey the point. In the Indian context, but also in others, Marxism is militant left wing entitlement. This guy would be a member of the educated Bourgeoisie. Who is cleaning because 1) he has the time and 2) he has the education to know it's a good thing to do and 3) he may come from some privelege. Some marxists in India may point out that he is a comfortable member of the neoliberal middle class and that poor/ignorant people polluting these areas are forced into it because they have no other options. The idea that people could take responsibility, educate themselves and do the right thing (cleaning, not polluting) is viewed as discriminatory or prejudiced. Rather their argument is if we just redistributed wealth for free no work required, no one would be ignorant and no one would pollute. This how Marxists in the Indian context and possibly others think from what I've heard at least.

India has so many people... they should ticket people who litter. And instead of taking them to jail take them go work cleaning up those beaches immediately. 4 to 8 hours per infraction.

There would be riots if that happened, India has no waste management policy, untreated sewage,plastic,and other organic waste is dumped directly into rivers. Once i went to one of the beaches in India a few locals were there with me all of a sudden a local dude came over pulled his shorts down and took a dump like 30 feet from us; the locals just looked away.

I remember watching almost the same story years back and I think it is also somewhere in India. It takes years for them to completely clean-up the beach and till one day, they're witnessing incredible moment where hundreds of turtles just hatched out from the sand at the beach. It's such a beautiful journey.

@@oyyits_me__1844 You know I have experienced the same thing but on a smaller scale I used to work as security for this company It is not my job but I did landscaping for them Very soon the neighbouring company also followed suit I also cleaned reception area & pantry It looked like brand new after that They were so impressed I suffer from anxiety & depression I have suicidal thoughts I tell myself look I am a good down-to-earth human being who lives simply.. Why should I end my life?

He is the guy who really did something to save our Planet instead of *_barking_* *How Dare You* UN: I pretend like I didn't see that.

Wow this is so amazing...He is really inspiring, I love how he cares a lot for his country.

He thinks he is "selfish" but I say he is "following his heart" and his helping the world as a grater good. What an inspiration to us all.

Yeah those who are saying doesn't necessarily do it. It's a showoff. And those who are saying 'we need people like him' doesn't consider themselves as a priority volunteer to do the same. We have cleaned more places than those who are saying 'we need more people' who don't even clean their houses. What a shameful youth.

So happy to see this! I first went to India in the 80s and was shocked about all the trash on the street. He’s right the public needs to be educated to help and take responsibility for the places we live.

Young citizens in India, like this man, should make his country proud. I pray there are millions more, there, and billions more, around the world not only who are concerned about these issues, but who make the time to show their sincerity through action.

I am an American and live in East Tennessee in the United States. I was fortunate to live in South India in the early 70s. Everything then was so clean and beautiful everywhere I went in India. If I went to the market to buy coffee or flour or Dahl they wrapped it in some pieces of newspaper and cotton twine. I put my shopping in my own shopping bag that I carried and reused every day. Some years later I went back to visit the village that I was teaching in and the introduction of plastic shopping bags had arrived in India. They were everywhere stuck in the trees and the fences buried in the ground it was such a mess. There was not any single use plastic, Etc at that time. I love this man's Vision. I wish I I was young again I would be back there working at his side to help him. At 72 years old now I still plan to come back to India to visit my host family in the village in the south. I love India dearly. There'll always be a warm spot in my heart for these people and the country. This young man is special and I certainly will support him the best way I can.

Proudest moment in his life was when his Instagram account was verified. [Smile] Keep up the great work.

I really appreciate this young man's positive attitude and communication skills. He isn't being negative, even in talking about the inadequacy of the municipal system that is unable to handle the problem. He's helping them do their job better instead of complaining. It really is up to us to care about our surroundings and help keep it clean. Whenever I go to the beach I take a garbage bag and take up any garbage I see. I usually end up with a full bag. It's very disheartening to see that people just don't care, but I try to do my part.

amazing story and great inspiration that a 22 year old is doing this rather than just talking about bollywood movies......we need more people like him in this world

Greta is being used as propaganda that's why she gets a huge media push with no effort (regardless of if you agree with her message or not that's what it is). using a child to spread an ideology or policy is a very manipulative --- they do it because it's extremely effective for persuasion. this guy isn't trying to manipulate people into paying more taxes he's a genuinely making positive change and leading by example to motivate others. he deserves so much respect.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of young kids in India being really interested in the environment nowadays. Maybe because of more education availability. It's pretty promising, can't wait to see what they do when older.
