I always have 1 or 2 San martins in the collection. Anyone who dismisses them because they are an AliExpress brand needs to handle one. They are outrageous quality for the money. I ended up ordering one after watching. 182 dollars on bracelet after vouchers. Couldn't refuse.

A lot of these reviewers make me laugh and it's a little bit annoying because they just refuse to give full credit to some of these watches people have complained about SanMartin and and now they make their own original design and these guys still can't say that its original they say Well it kind of reminds me of blah blah blah this watch Doesn't Remind anyone of anything. Divers have existed forever just because you make a diver doesn't mean it's inspired by anything this is 100% original and just because zodiac uses weird colors doesn't mean they own the right to do that. And in terms of quality same thing just give people their actual credit. SanMartin and have quality that is very good and not only in their price segments. Their quality is good in general and just as good as many watches costing a lot more including zodiac I would like proof that zodiac is better than this in any way

There are some channels that do side by side macro shots of a San Martin to the actual homage watch like rolex and grand seiko, San Martin's quality is at their level, even crazier to think that they get so close to that quickly of finishing for how much they cost. Some guys just don't want to like Chinese watches.

color matched date wheel is always appreciated

Ordered it this morning, on the rubber strap, after the sale started, got it for $168 after taxes in the US. What a steal for this great looking watch and San Martin quality.

Seriously, San Martin does have Zodiac quality. Maybe better. I’ve owned both.

I also have owned both and I would say that San Martin is slightly better overall; if you add the price disparity it instantly becomes much better!

I couldn't agree more about the bracelet. Crazy as it sounds I was tempted to buy the watch (that I'm not particularly interested in) just to get the bracelet. And for those who may say why don't you just order the bracelet from San Martin. I looked into it and at this time they are only offering this bracelet with a curved end link (not the straight end link like the bracelet that is supplied with the watch).

San Martin REALLY should have made the date window outlined in black with the date itself in orange ink on that color-matched date wheel. How they didn't see that I'm not sure... Thanks Chris as always, great video!

I don't know how original it is, but good enough for me. And the color? It's fun. No question about the quality. Great price. I'll buy and wear it proudly.

SM is really stepping it up, this model is original, they only has to change colours/materials on the dial and bezel and keep the case and bracelet, just refining it.. Quality wise they are already home.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I avoid Chinese watches as a rule, but I might get this for summer. If the bezel markers were fully lumed, I definitely would! I have another San Martin Clone of a Unimatic and it's arguably better than the original! 😮

San martin builds great watches. It's just a fact that they build amazing watches. I've handled a bunch of mid tier swiss brands, and the build quality is comparable or slightly better in areas. It doesn't mean they are "better" or should be all you buy, but they are very good. They should be respected in the community.

San Martin's quality is really amazing for what they charge. They are really putting out some great pieces they could easily charge more for...

I’ve always said when San Martin starts putting out great original designs, it’s going to be something to behold. They have several iterations of this design in different colors (some more muted) in GMT and three hander. Thanks for the great review and Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers!

I have the GMT model. I like it, even though I have some complaints about it. In my opinion, the bracelet is excellent, the dial is beautiful and the movement is very well adjusted, especially in terms of winding it. The main negatives are the uninspired caseback and the lume, when compared to other microbrands.

I have the mint green and it's an awesome watch. Only issue is the bezel is slightly misaligned. I'll fix that at another time.

You should check out their new SN0129 3 hander with the sand dune dial. Incredible watch for around $220. Blows away seiko and orient watches by a mile.

I own 8 San Martin watches right from the beginning of this brand. They did original design back then, but never really successful. This time it's different. This watch is great in design and obviously in quality. From now on San Martin should concentrate on original design only watches to bring to market in my opinion. Let's wait for the first San Martin homage watch....I mean a brand that homages an original design San Martin watch. That will be the turning point. The Swiss are watching this race very closely.....

Too colourful for me. But i can still appreciate it. I have a few San Martins in my collection. They sit in the watch box next to my JLC, and i don't feel weird about it at all.

SM make great watches. This one is perhaps to colorful for me but beautiful none the less. I would like to see them make a thin GADA (sub 11 mm) but they will have to ditch the NH series of movements for something thinner. Great review.

The only component that is not on par with Zodiac is the movement. NH is a shitter; Zodiac at least uses a swiss movement. But for the price I can not argue about anything else. We should all keep in mind that if you put this watch through a rugged daily routine it might not hold up as well as a more expensive watch. There is no long term history on these watches that are pumped out by the thousands.

San Martin makes decent quality watches. It is just Zodiac being low quality and unreliable.

Problem is, it's a Chinese knockoff with a $20 movement, not a Swiss Zodiac. Other than that, great watch. 🙄 And I see that you're wearing an Omega, not a San Martin 😅

Glad to see they aren’t just doing cheap clones, but they still have work to do when it comes to original designs. It’s not enough to throw a bunch of crazy colors at a generic design like this. SM are a long way off from establishing an identity. It’s also a great example of how color-matched date windows can be god-awful: It’s so illegible and low-contrast, it looks like the 3 o’clock index just fell off. Better to simply omit it. It still feels like these guys are designing watches by checking spec boxes. Their bread is buttered with copied or generic designs and there’s no way for them to get away from it. Better to start a new brand to focus on originals than to try to change the generic clone brand perception.

Zodiac has inferior quality compared to SM? Can you elaborate? What criteria are you using to make the claim? You mention the bezel is better on the SM. Maybe but the dial on the SM looks average at best.

I like what San Martin is doing, but that logo is a show stopper. Needs to be at least 30% smaller.

Whew….sorry Chris but this watch is SO not, beautiful or gorgeous. No wonder they do 99% of their production as homages. Fine review and I applaud them for trying but compliance with the the National Chinese Society for the Color Blind is extremely stringent. Even so……. Maybe in the year of the Snake! In Toronto canada I buy a super super clone I bring it to a rolex expert he say it was real rolex . Unbelievable. Your super clone look just like mine. You a expert but a regular person like me will never know. Imagine on amzwatch
