I love those General Grabber A/T tires. I have them on my 2024 Passport Trailsport. The tires generate more of a “white noise” at highway and interstate speeds and little to no hum and vibration. They get excellent traction in winter conditions as Nebraska presented me with just that shortly after taking deliver on 12/23.

@@JimBearythe extra mpgs was just a bonus. I ran 93 octane because of the variable timing taking advantage of higher octane and noticeably snappier power. Dyno says 22 more hp. We towed a lot, and there definitely was a difference in performance.

Best I've managed with my '20 FX4 on Wildpeaks was about 23, but that was running 87, averaging around 80, and driving a route with a climb from about 1000' to over 8000'. 27 doesn't shock me with the lower speed and better gas.

As all of these are finally hitting the street, they really come close together in pricing for what you get. It comes down to what options they offer or what it looks like. The GMC has a HUD and digital mirror which Ford doesn't, but the Ford has powered rear window but no moonroof like the GM. Taco has all of it available but costs the most for it all. Lots of combos to go with. The Toyota and GM look aggressive whereas the Ford looks softer but has high payload. Except that comes in a shorter wheelbase that doesn't work well for towing. All are pricey relative to 10 years ago but that's what it is.

Yeah comes more or less brand loyalty for most. & others features. For myself it would be both, though I hadn't had a truck personally in yrs bc well I enjoy breathing. Though we recently bought the Grenadier for purpose driving the Pan American Hwy as well as OG Defender 130 diesel td8(🇬🇧 version)camper spec'd but towing a Bruder exp-8. But most assuredly both were fully spec'd w/lots of features & brand loyalty! Even the Grenadier as it most definitely looks and drives like a Defender. NOTHING like a Gelandewagen which at 1st tfl wanted to say it "looked or drove" like Umm no. Owned both, it looks and drives like a Defender bc Ratcliffe loved the older Defender so much. He more or less rebuilt a newish Old one lol 😆

If you're still on stock shocks there's a good chance they're blown, the FX4 ones are notorious for lasting about 35-40k. I put Bilstein 5100s on my 2020 FX4 last summer and it's like a whole new truck, the bounce is pretty much totally gone and it handles way better around corners etc. too. (Just avoid the highest lift settings on the front, they make it way too stiff with stock springs.)

The 2.7 has had some issues in the Bronco, but is pretty solid in everything else. The Ranger version of the 2.3 is pretty bulletproof, Ford will even sell you a fully warrantied +45hp +60lb/ft tune, if that gives you an idea of how tough their own engineers think it is.

You probably won't see a difference since the vehicle is not being loaded as hard. Also not sure which version escape goes back a while. So could be a different revision engine. The ranger is a brick in the wind, and some vehicles benefit more from premium more than others.

Why can't they get it to show actual correct mpg? I also wish Ford would use the round AC vents like the Tacoma. Wife has a 2017 Tacoma.
