Wish they would’ve given us a king cab option like frontier and Toyota not everyone needs a crew cab and certainly not a 5’ bed some people want at least a 6’ bed

Agreed. They have payload and towing and seats and other features for work but forgot the 6ft bed? They seem confused on who they are selling to. Daily driver/recreational truck=GM & Toyota. Work orientated=Nissan & Toyota 6ft. beds but the nod to the Nissan with the simpler engine.

Your exactly right. As a tradesman,I opted for the frontier because I need 6’ bed. The last thing I need is a backseat which I find totally ridiculous.

I like how we call mid-size trucks "little trucks." I pull up to an older Chevy 1500, or Ford F150 in my 2022 Frontier, and they're basically the same size. People be commuting to their office jobs and the grocery store in massive heavy duty trucks nowadays.

Love the rear locker availability and wider bed. My biggest gripe is the solid rear bench. I love the split back seats on my taco.
I'll admit the Ranger is the most capable mid size. After seeing Toyota's latest effort this is best in class. I owned a 2014 Ranger overseas and really liked it. Its not so cramped inside like most mid sizes. It the goldy locks of mid size trucks.
Ranger is getting capable enough that they should put a 75” bed on it and call it an F-100.

100%. I'd also like to see a split rear seat bottom so you can have a passenger and use of the floor space next to them. We often use our F-150 this way.
Loving the refresh design and simplification of offerings. I think it is a fanatic change all the way around.
I think society needs to get away from the throwaway and upgrade regularly mindset. A carryover engine is not a big deal. I'd rather have them support an engine for 20 years making small improvements over time, only making reliability better. (King quad, brute force, grizzly 🤔) Sadly people think old is boring and bad. And I get it, they want to make people want new. But the industry has a normal cycle. Rich get new every 2/3 years, middle gets mildly used and own for 5+ years. Poor pick up what works. And the whole income span gets something.

Love the new ranger, but I wish they would've offered the Bronco's 7 speed manual
@RobertNuno
3 ай бұрын
I would drive manuals in the 90's because they were far superior to the autos of the time. But now, I don't see the point of a manual. The Autos have better fuel economy and usually have some sort of selecting a gear. They are also programmed great. I see these comments and don't understand why anyone would ask for this on a modern truck. Manufacturers are not going to add them if it makes up 10% of sales.

Thanks for the trailer app and assist demo; appreciated.
Great review as always. I was hoping to get one of these when I was looking to replace my old truck last year... but the delays in getting it to the US market were too much for me. That blue XLT you were driving was basically exactly how I would have spec'd mine. I really like what Ford has done to it. I just wish they would have hurried up a little lol.
Hello do you know if Base truck can have a trailer backup assist feature added?
I like the new look and glad it has a little more room in the back seat. I wished they would offer two tone colors on the exterior.
Nice. I pickup my 2024 Ford Ranger XLT, 3 litre V6, 4 wheel drive in acouple weeks. Rangers in Australia have a different design. Free tub liner, side step on the tub. Keyless start. Towbar, Side steps. Rubber floor mats. 360 lights and camera.

Steven, GREAT Review ! Iv been waiting for it ...I have the new Ranger on the way... Looking very forward to it !
Good video, thanks. Is the interior wider, or feel wider, than the previous generation?
XL trim all the way. I'm definitely a fan of the vinyl floor, standard features, and rear legroom of the new Ranger. My family wouldn't need any more than that.
Very cool little truck.
How is the brake pedal feel? Is it still mushy like previous generation?
Ford did the 1 thing it said it would never do. They gave up on the full size bumper and appeared to use plastic like others. Looks rather nice and looking forward to actually seeing them in person and especially the Raptor version with the bigger ECO boost !
If the 2.3 is a mechanical carry-over, does the tuner from ford still work on it? 2.3 with 310/370 vs a 2.7 with 325/400 seems like a marginal improvement.
Great review, I like this truck and hope that next year they bring out a hybrid version with more power in the back for camping and better fuel economy
If I were to trade up to the new Ranger my pick would be the XLT model, with the new 2.7 V6, tow package, FX4 package, and heated seats, block heater. Living in a northern state these are essentials IMO.
I like that base model. They seem to give you a lot of features. I'm curious how much of a difference there is between the LED reflectors on the base model there, and the LED projectors on the Lariat.
Will they come out with a Tremor trim? If they do, I’ll get it with the 2.7 ecoboost.
Great review, thanks.

Would love to see that generation of ranger with the 5.0 coyote motor as a factory option. Since you know that somebody will offer a swap over implant kit for it eventually and I think it would be right at home in that little truck.

@truck king, so the new 2.7l motor is for this summer, does it mean i can order now or it means this summer i an order it then?
Thanks Steve... Great review! From this review Ford looks like they did a good job and that's coming from a GM guy.
You get a ruler on the tailgate?!!! Well I was on the fence, but not anymore 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a winner
My 2012 F150 Lariat Crew Cab has a 1,370 payload rating. It’s insane a mid size truck now out classes my hauling abilities. Not complaining just saying how cool it is to see these advances.
Strange to remove the spot mirrors as I really like how ford did them but I guess blind spot monitoring probably takes care of that
Ford has always done a good job with the Ranger. Currently on my 4th new Ranger (1988, 2001, 2006 and 2019). Excellent experiences with every one. I like the 2024 update, but my 2019 Lariat isn't going anywhere. The optional Ford Performance Tune is a definite Plus. Want a powered, inbuilt moonroof? There are 2 aftermarket units available. My Lariat has the Signature unit. What would it take to put me into a 6g Ranger? A Coyote V8 motor of course!
I agree with the big man. 4000lb TT for a smaller truck. 7500lb TT for a 1/2 ton.
Accoustic side glass? Is it laminated?
The SecuriCode Keyless-Entry Keypad is a $95 option on all trim levels.
I do like the blue paint.
what's the fuel capacity, my 2019 only has a range of like 350 miles when topped off? tank should be bigger
i dream of the day i buy this truck with thhe 2.7... Im saving and waiting... HURRY UP FORD!!
I bought a Black XLT about a month ago put a deposit down and waiting for it to be started made at the factor just for me. It’s going to be a while for them to be produced because they had a strike
You guys miss out on the 3L V6 Diesel we get in Australia. Its a pretty good tow vehicle with that engine. We get no Petrol engine options in Australia
Those grey panels from the sport appearance package do wonders for the front end, it just doesn't look right to me with one color over the whole front. I wish it still had a real steel front bumper like the previous one, though, the ones on my previous gen have saved my truck not once but twice when people hit my parked truck. I'll be interested to drive one of these new ones and see how the ride compares to my 2020 on Blistein 5100s, which were a huge upgrade and transformed the truck IMO, especially for towing. One thing that bugs me is seeing that those huge running boards are stock on the FX4. Even with a bit of front lift from the Bilsteins and slightly oversized tires, nobody's ever had an issue getting into my truck, not even my 5'7" 77 year old dad or a 5'1" female friend who's been in my truck a bunch, and those steps are just gonna get in the way off road.
I like it. 2.7 range sounds like a good idea.

A WDH would help tremendously on the feeling of that trailer he is towing, ford recommends using one over 5000 lb anyway

If Ford offer the 7 speed manual in the Ranger like they do in the Bronco I would have bought one. Ended up with a 2024 Taco 6 speed and driving is enjoyable again.
It’s a good looking mid sizer. I think all the manufacturers need to make a midsize full frame SUV! I would buy it as soon as they have one!

Hey Steven, great video as always. One correction. You no longer have to take and input any measurements when you set up pro trailer backup assist. Just set the sticker down, the truck uses AI to figure out the rest. And while I'm at it GM towing stickers are no longer VIN specific they have not been for over a year now.
@TruckKing
3 ай бұрын
Thanks. I asked a Ford rep about Pro Trailer system setup for Ranger and was told you still needed to input the measurements. No excuse though, I should have verified. It's now a simple calibration procedure done by executing some tight turns. As for the GM towing information sticker, it still states the VIN on it for 2024 models (I checked our 24' 3500 HD and a 23' GMC Sierra) and the payload perfectly matches what is on the door jamb sticker. So I'm not sure what you mean on that one.

@@TruckKing Thanks for the reply. I could be totally wrong about GM. I've been watching a bunch of videos about GM trucks over the last year and I've seen it (Andre) repeatedly said that GM have changed the towing sticker from being VIN specific to now state the max that the trim level can tow. The individual now has to work out their specific truck max towing.

So overflippin blown. Who cares about a stupid mechanical headlight switch when the vehicle has auto headlights on/off? You'll NEVER, EVER have to manually turn on your headlights.
I'm very curious what the next gen Tremor will offer in North America. Considering prices of the XLT FX4 vs the Raptor, it has to be a $50k truck.
Getting more for less? So this truck is less than last year's model? Or is it like the F-150, paying more for features that were added to lower trim levels?
If we can get heated seats in the lower end truck I’m sold, I’m poor with a bad back

The days of 12 foot beds are long since over
i like this channel
Lot's of bean counter cost cutting, no rear vents or 3 zone temp control, cheap bench rear seat with no split for storage with a passenger, would be a perfect platform for the flat floor and split fold like an f150, the off the shelf tailgate assist, some cheap looking plastics on the interior especially the center console area and knobs, no convex mirror because you can't have it with bliss? Just not as nice as I had hoped for, especially for over 50k on the lariat.
I hate the vertical screen 😬😬😬
Ford made sure to give the Ranger a high payload rating because in some markets like the UK, if a pickup has a certain amount of payload, it's classified as a commercial vehicle, which are less expensive to register and Ford made sure the Ranger satisfied that criteria.
If this had a crew cab with a 6’ bed like the Tacoma I have I’d get it in a 2.7.
