This 1992 Dodge D350 Cummins Diesel Ramp Truck Hauls Cars (Kind Of)!

Ever wondered what it’s like to own and use a ramp truck? What if it was the sketchiest ramp truck ever! Well I am here to help! In this video we bought a 1992 Dodge D350 ramp truck from the Dave Wren estate that he used to haul cars to the track with. How did he do that? Still not sure. We put a 1963 Valiant on the back and test it out.
Truck is a 1992 with the intercooled 5.9 Cummins Diesel engine with overdrive. Both are really nice features to have on this generation truck.

I had a 1993 chassis cab 12V 5spd that I bought as a freezer truck that I converted into a flatbed. I miss that truck

@@rocketrestoor maybe...hear me out.... You could build a WC ramp truck with a 413 and a turbo!!!! That way... you could buy more forward look cars!!!
My best friend owns a 1929 REO Speedwagon 2 1/2 ton (I think 🤔🤔) that is just the cab mounted on the chassis. It is a dually, but I'm not sure if that would be stock. He wants to turn it into a tilt flat bed truck that has one of those intercooled Cummins in it. Not sure if the cab would bolt to a 199x 1-ton chassis without too much effort. 🤔🤔 While I know those early Cummins last like 2 million miles and stuff 😂😂, I am just a fan of the V8 gas powered engine. Give me a 1-ton SRW 4x4 with the 460 in it. 💪😎
chassis cabs did not come from the factory with overload springs. They were added at some point.
That's a flatbed with ramps, not a ramp truck. It does seem sketchy enough for exciting videos :-)

You need to expand the the back of that flatbed where at least 19 ft and weld a ducktail on it
Dave Wren and his temper...a friend witnessed a race that Dave lost..on the return road at the track Dave could be seen beating the crap out of the inside of his car with his helmet.

Ya he was famous for that.
Brake lock is an electric park brake . Step on the brake, flip the switch and the brakes don't release. Just a valve.

That’s good to know and makes way more sense that the parking brake cables are cut. Doesn’t that stay in all the time however and drain the battery?

I like that truck, I like the Imperial Coupe as well. Raised on Mopar. Normally the LE was the top of line, power windows and doors locks with tilt and cruise control. Odd that one doesn't have them?

Think all that stuff was still optional on the LE but more common. Think I have the 92 truck data book need to break it out!

@@rocketresto The LE was the top of the line with everything. I believe someone found an LE badge and affixed it to the truck.
The diesel sounds great.But not too sure about a ramp truck.That thing needs three more feet on the back of it to be safe. But if Jamie likes it then let him be sketchy!!!

Ya so this truck will have the trash can cuda on it for nostalga race day. I would not put the duster on it lol. Oh and glad jamie didnt smoke my coronet. Its coming home this month since i am on the mend and a payment plan with the dentist over the crow bar tractor insident. Teeth are expensive lol😅

Definitely do not touch 440 in truck, to rare. 318 truck absolutely.
If y'all built a short dovetail off the back of that truck would sure make things easier
