This 1937 Old English/Tudor home was a grand Lady but then it was abandoned

Hey house lovers and explorers! This video I explore a grand old 1937 built old English/Tudor style home that is was no longer wanted and sat vacant. The start of a salvage process had begun on the property but all was still in tact apart from the kitchen which we can see clearly in the real estate pics along with how it was when lived in. 2 levels and a huge back yard with an in ground pool made this home a very prominent and recognizable one along this strip which I was familiar with. Cheers to Helen who tipped me off it was fenced off. So join me and take a look around this place! Hope you all enjoy, cheers for watching :-)

It looks like it would have been a remarkable grand manor for it's time Paul - heart breaking to know how it was treated in it's last days. So sad - at least the birds are singing amongst the rubble . I imagine with the size of that block it is destined for town houses / units. It's lovely you were familiar with this home on your path and spent time capturing it's last days on film and wondering how something so grand fell into ruin - Thank you for sharing as always 🥰

Hi Paul WOW! Those real estate photos were great. They really showed how beautiful this house was once upon a time. That extension was cool and I love the big windows. As of lately I really like the Tudor style house. And that pool was so beautiful. It’s really a shame that it has come to the point where it is so damaged from sitting all those years it wouldn’t be worth renovating. Another lovely home goes into the history books and you Paul have documented it so it can live on forever in your archives. The whole house was pretty wonderful but my favorite part was the outdoor catio. These people who lived here must have loved their cats to have a nice enclosure built for them. That was great. Well Paul you have done it again. You’ve shared with us another beauty and I thank you. Keep yourself safe and well. Oh by the way I saw what you look like in one of the mirrors in the house. Not bad. You should really show yourself to us for real. Now you can see what I look like too. Just click the pic on the top left to see me. Just so you have a face to go with the name. See you soon!😊🏘️

What an eclectic puzzle you found. The entry is begging for wall paper with all that lovely wood trim. It would take a clever designer to figure out what the house wants to be and how to make use of the awkward lay out. The bathrooms were jammed into some odd spaces. A lot of walls were moved/removed to make space for bathrooms and closets. The upstairs bath had a window's side cut off by a wall. What a glorious catio though! Can you imagine kids playing jump over the lava in that glassed in room with black pavers grouted in with flaming red stuff? I wish someone could figure out and do drawings of what the original house looked like. (Of course, someone's brilliant idea to take this interesting story of a house and turn it into a botanical nightmare does not help.)

So sad to see these beautiful architectural snapshots of our past turned into ruin..makes me emotional in a way i can't really explain nor understand. I find myself imagining all the lives that had been lived in every humble little house and it makes my heart heavy. I've mentioned before that my parents own a 1920's cottage very similar to some of the houses you've covered - every time i see my parents i'm fighting for my life to save up the money to help pay off the mortgage before it's too late and falls into the hands of someone who will tear it down and not appreciate it
