I won't lie, this random series is by far, my favorite I have seen. There's something so chaotic and visceral seeing you do crazy builds with a random race you get. I can't get enough!

It's incredible that players like uThermal can defeat a player by tricking them into winning too slowly. The first Terran player believed that the Nexus being built in their base was very important to uThermal, and figured that as long as they stopped it, they had to be doing well. But uThermal could glace at the number of SCVs that were working on his Nexus, and realize immediately that the SCVs were doing more damage to the Terran cause by attacking than they could by ignoring the enemy Nexus entirely and just mining minerals. Must be tough to look at the present and think in the future that way!

to be fair, it's pretty easy to do the math and realize that tying up 7 SCV for that long is very inefficient. The problem you face when you're on the receiving end of a cheese like that, is you don't know how to respond. The terran probably realized it was a "bad" move, but in the moment, he lacked the clarity to know how else to respond.

we have early christmas? I never knew... If you mean coca cola stole sinterklaas and made him santa, I suppose you are right ;) But we also copied santa, so we celebrate both events, saint nicholas around december the 5th and santa clause on the 25 and 26th. The former comes from spain (turkey, actually), the latter from the north pole. We don't do christmas eve. We indeed mostly copied boxing day - more gifts :) At any rate, he'd get the double gifts anyway.

You checkmated the zerg in the 3rd game. The lib siege on the hive was like checking their king chess piece while the queen (literal chess queen) was frankly moving around trying to avoid the line of fire just can't help but draw parallels, I've been practicing chess recently

Always brightens my day when i see a new upload from you :) . Love your videos! Really loving the mind games too.. I would be curious if having a sentry ready to scout as soon as your race is discovered would be useful, as it seems that you can't do your normal scouting because you want to keep them in the dark. Also, seeing as you asked for feedback about the sound, in my opinion the second game was the best balance.

3rd game was the perfect setting - agree just the in game music was too loud :)

there's actually a bug where you get the same race over and over again. I once played zerg 10 times as a random and decided to ask my opponent which race I am and he answered "zerg". So it wasn't random even though I selected it.

So, just if you were wondering. If everything works as intended, you have 1 in three (1/3) chance of playing each race (when random obv). Chance of NOT playing a specific race is therefore 2/3 (66%). In two games its 2/3*2/3 (2/3)^2 because first you have a 66% chance of not getting it in the first game, and when you don't get it, 66% in the second, so ~44%. We consider those rolls independent, meaning they don't see each other - the fact you rolled a specific race doesn't affect the next chance at all. This is an assumption and who knows how it is coded. If it is actually a pseudorandom chance than this calculation is not correct, but that would REALLY make it impossible to not get terran in 21 games (pseudorandom means that each time you don't get an outcome, the chance of getting it increases until you get it). So, ignoring that, chance of NOT getting a specific race in 21 games is 2/3^21 = 0.0004 or 0.02%. You got it once, so that's 2/3^20 which makes it slightly better, more precisely 0.03%. This is actually higher than i thought at first, but it would also mean you would have to play 3333x blocks of 21 games of random to "guarantee" that it happens for terran specifially, or 1111 stretches to get any race only once.

For reference, the chance of not getting Terran in 20 random games is 0.0245968057% (or a 1 in 4065 chance)

Whenever I play random it queues up Terran for me 75% of the time. I bet you anything the random seed is based on the user login id because mine was "hydralisk."

I have noticed because I recently have been playing random on the ladder, that you will more frequently get a race that you score bad with in random that sounds crazy because I know you’re a main tan, but I keep getting Taryn and I’m really bad at it. I play in silver one

At 25:44 the Starport is idle, then at 25:53 it's 20% done building a Liberator. WHEN did he start that? I've literally been frame-hopping and cannot see where. Can it be that game frame rate is 120Hz+ and KZread upload is 60fps and the buttons were actually pressed at 25:44 but those frames got cut out in the video export?

I think it would be really funny if, after playing random for a while it turns out that teran is your weakest race! It's not impossible to only get 1 teran in 20 matches, just really unlikely. The RNG may be biased, but it's more likely that you just got unlucky, as for the MMR glitch, I'm not going to try and defend blizzard on that one! Great to see you already beating some of the best na has to offer on the ladder!

I think the race you get whenever you play random has something to do with the games you play in all 3 races. Whenever I play random, I always get Protoss since that's the race I least play with. That or I'm tripping. 😂😂😂

can you pls try no upgrades to GM? My idea is being cheeky with zerg and stuff using contaminate to halt their upgrades like forever, I did some research on the Erik Opener whichh shoulld be insane with an idea like that, also things like taking the opponents gasses early so they cant afford upgrades or any other gas units, I'm of course not gonna say unit specific upgrades are considered upgrades but rather missile and armor upgrades then xD

Plugging it into a binomial distribution calculator returns a chance of ~0.3% for 1 terran out of 18, a factor of 10 greater than where you arrived. While unlikely to happen to uThermal personally, this is not unlikely to happen to _someone_ over the course of people playing Random. I'm not inclined to believe it's a bug unless other Random players have the same experience en masse.

@@eclipseeffigy Thats funny. I was wrong, but not like that. The probability of not playing terran is 2/3. The probability of not playing terran in 18 games in a raw is (2/3)^18. I difenetly was wrong but not by 10. Coz (2/3)^18 ~= 0,000677, 0.07%. Your calculator is wrong too and i wonder how, coz you are not the first one who brung up 0.3%. Maybe thats probability of having the same issue with any of 3 races? I believe thats a bug coz random race feature intent is to play races pretty much equally, there should be some countermeasures to ensure terran pick if it did not happen in last X games. Even if that happens now only to 0.03% part of players, which could be true, it must not work like that in a first place, and i pretty sure it didnt until lately.

Having this little Terran is probably not as rare as it feels. There are 3*3*...*3=3^21 different sequences of races you can get in 21 games. 2*2*...*2=2^21, or about 2 out of every 10,000 have no Terran. 1*2*2*...*2=2^20 has Terran first and never again, 2*1x2*...*2=2^20 has Terran second and never again, and so on, so 21*2^20, or about 2 out of every 1,000 sequences.

You know what they say, "happy wife, happy life." Also, your channel is the best Star Craft 2 content available *_by far._* Is the cat's name "Nova" or "No va?" In Spanish, "No va" means "it doesn't go" or "it's not working."

That's pretty negligible... If it were 1% I'd say OK, that's possible. Someone else did the math here and it's a 1 in 4065 chance that happens. If I were a software developer, I'd be looking at my algorithm if that happened, not saying "eh, probably just chance".
