I just did this with my GTi this evening here. I got the same smoked black light as you did and I love how it blends in with my black car also. It feels so wrong and I doubt I would have had the courage to do it if I hadn't seen this video (and a few others too) but you really just have to go for it like you hate it lol. Thanks for the video cos I reckon I would have paid a lot to any garage I would have taken it to instead of just €45 for the light itself on eBay. Thanks man 👍

I am trying to get mine out of a mark 5, but I assume it’s popped out from the inner glass side with a special tool

I just bought the same thing as yours and the light jusy shakes inside. Does that supposely shake?

Meni ne svjetli kad pritisnem kocnicu sad me zanima postoil laksi nacin da zamjenem pa da sjetli sad kao golf bas je jednostavno zamjeniti sijalice a ovo mi se cini veci poso moram skidati sve da bi odradio poso mozel se kako izvuci a da ne polomim da ne napravim stetu jeli to silikonirano pa da pomwlo isjecem skalpelom pa cu silikonirati sta vi mislite na to lijep pozdrav iz Bosne.

Ebay for like 25 dollars. OEM is around 80 dollars from VW.

Unless you want the take apart the hatch and take the whole rear spoiler off and glue it back on be my guest. The VW repair manual calls for a lot of work. This is a short cut I learned form someone.
