This song is hitting a different spot for me today. Today my ex, my first love, my only real love, “called me up right outta the blue” after 2+ years of no contact. We sat on the phone for 4-5 hours, catching up, talking about life, laughing, back to like nothing had happened, and like no time had gone by. We picked up right where we left off. I don’t know what this means or where we’re heading. Maybe I’ll end up heart broken again… Maybe enough time and growth between us has happened, that this could turn into the REstart of something beautiful. I was listening to this song while going thru divorce to my wife. I hope she knows no matter what she has done or what I have done. I will always have a spot for her in my heart to include my daughter who I have not been able to see since she was born.

Completely true, for all of it. As far as MacKenzie goes, Canadian artists just don't get the love/support like they should below the border. I like the way they do it, they have to give so much airtime to CA artists and can split the rest with all other artists. I think that's how how we should do it in the US, so we can hear other country artists/countries.. since Ireland, Canada, UK, Australia, etc all have great artists, we just have to find them ourselves, the radio isn't bringing them to us.

Cumberland Lake aint too far from me here in KY.. and its frequented alot by our community. So this song hits home even more.

I’ve loved this song ever since I first heard it on the radio . Yesterday I realized that it was one of his favorite songs too & I couldn’t help but to fall more in love with it . There’s this Canadian man that took my heart . He has a smile so beautiful that it feels like sunshine warming up my skin on a snowy day , I could talk forever about how beautiful of a man he is . As if the 5652.42 miles between us weren’t enough , we’re of different religions and cultures he lives two continents away & there’s a huge sea and a 13h flight between us as a bonus all of his exes are blondes and I am a brunette lol . There are so many obstacles that It seems impossible that we’d ever be a real thing yet I can’t imagine myself loving another man & the thought of him with someone else breaks me to pieces . The universe always kind of gives me signs but I just keep ignoring them and assuming they’re just coincidences because it just seems impossible.. i am so scared from heartbreak to the point where I couldn’t even confess from the fear that we couldn’t be . I will be moving out of my hometown this year haven’t decided where to yet , depends on where I get accepted so I asked god if there’s the slightest possibility that we could make it work let me get accepted in Canada as a sign and I swear I’ll fight as hard as it takes for us 🙏

I do NOT like county music at all , like I'm talking I will turn it right off. Little did I know this would be my new favorite song. The person who listened to this song in front of me is no longer here. At that time I said turn this shit off,I ain't tryna hear that. Boy was I wrong, wrong wrong wrong. We were friends for 10 years, just friends. Recently this past summer we ran into each other at the bar and I haven't seen or talked to him in a few years due to his lifestyle. Well things got to be a little more than friends this time but I was going thru a 10 year break up and we were taking things a little fast for me. So I started to back off and try to work on myself so I could fully give myself to him later. Well I didn't get time to heal my broken heart before it was broken again. Shattered to a million pieces. So now instead of thinking about calling him out of the blue when I hear this song, it's me just thinking of you and how things could have been. I miss you so much Danny. Thank you for showing me this song.

How are you doing and thanks for your comment . You have same name with somebody I know . I was diagnosed of atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) a year ago and my doc just told me i have two months to live . Your comment makes a lot of sense and brought smile to my face

What broke me in, years ago, listening to this Southern Man’s Song, Thinking about you! It was the story to the song, I fell in love with 1st. Loved the duo! Saw him in Concert, caught my interest, even more…..
