    If there is a law procribing the action and establishing a penalty, the action is illegal if one is caught or not. Those who commit illegal actions without being apprenended are uncaught criminals. One who thinks doing illegal things is fine as long as they don't get caught are untrustworthy and morally lacking.

    Some places have “intent to speed” laws, it’s a bs way for cops to take your not illegal radar detector that if fought in court will result in a reimbursement or return in states where they aren’t banned. If retail stores sell them they aren’t illegal there and a cop has to prove you were going to intentionally speed

But more importantly, how/why did "Having a light on in the car while driving" not make this list? All my life I was told it was illegal, only to find out as an adult that it is in fact not!

    It's legal in most states, but in some states it's deemed a distraction, and you can get a ticket. In Illinois they recently passed a law that you can't have anything hanging from your rear view mirror. But it's not enforced. It's more like an excuse to get lawbreakers in even more trouble. You would hear something like "you were speeding and, oh, is that an air freshener hanging there? You know that's illegal right?"

  • @irvin295

    @irvin295

    A little bit of a stipulation with your comment on the sleeping in the car while drunk. It’s legal to sleep in your car drunk as long as you are not sitting in the driver’s seat. If you are caught in the driver’s seat it’s automatically assumed you were thinking about driving drunk and lands you a DUI or DWI.

    Also: owning of sound suppressors for firearms in most states, sure it's regulated as a class III NFA item so: you have to be at least 21, and go through fingerprinting, and a separate background check, and fill out a ATF F 5320.4 (commonly referred to as a "Form 4") if purchasing or a ATF F 5320.1 (commonly referred to as a "Form 1") if you are manufacturing one for yourself, and pay a $200 tax, and wait anywhere from 6 to 18 months for the ATF to get back to you about whether or not you were found worthy of using a different type of hearing protection. **Then** if the ATF approves your paperwork, you can buy or manufacture ONE, with each subsequent purchase having the same steps as the first Don't forget that you also must notify the ATF when you take it across state lines, and make sure the state you are traveling through hasn't outlawed NFA items like California

    Most of the time it’s the opposite kids who are disciplined like that usually have more discipline and behave better. The bigger factor is how the parent handles the rest of the relationship because the discipline without the love causes problems. But it’s just not as simple as you think to say oh because it’s legal and this rate is higher they are connected. An example is saying ice cream causes domestic violence… people actually thought that but it wasn’t the ice cream it was the heat. The ice cream increased because of the heat and the heat also increased anger tension and amount of time spent home and led to more domestic violence. It’s called “correlation is not causation.”

    While I knew about the cousins thing (mixture of both red and blue states there with even California allowing it and a couple of southern states disallowing it...er, as a “fun fact”), I did not know about the stepsiblings thing. Makes sense, though. Also FYI, in some states, flamethrowers are not only legal but less regulated than firearms. It’s because they’re rather effective at dealing with bee swarms and hives. But do try to only use one as a last resort! Bees are very important to the environment as they help new flowers grow!

I had my catch cup trying desperately to get him but you know how fast they move. My friends made fun of me afterwards about being sad about a spider, they didn't get it. He was a pet that I loved.

He knew he was gonna die but hid it from my grandma to not stress her out, but he told her, "If I die, bury me in the backyard so I can stay with my family"(again knowing he was gonna die) and didnt repeat himself. It took a special permit but he's back there to stay with us. And yes he is still around cause weve had mad paranormal activity from pictures to clear sounds.

    You might be able to eat dog or cat but I think you could get in trouble for slaughtering them, even if you did it as humanely as possible. If you can get in legal trouble for starving or beating your pet I dont think slaughtering your pet for food would be permissible. I'm sure there is some loophole but I would suspect most prosecutors wouldn't have an issue bringing charges against someone who ate their pet. Either way it's gross. I know its cultural conditioning and arbitrary for me to be grossed out by it but we are intimate with dogs and cats in a way totally different than stock animals like cattle and it just feels wrong.

    The one problem I have with this is that spanking in corporal punishment should really not be allowed because a lot of times parents go too overboard and it can quickly turn into a classic case of excusable child abuse, as well as many other traumatic issues like not feeling safe around your parents because they went too far such activates PTSD whenever they're around their parents and it's the parents fault for the PTSD in the first place if that does end up happening! So I do not believe that corporal punishment should be legal still because of how dangerous it can get and for those of you who don't believe me trust me I've been random to walls intentionally and several other things just because of being disabled so I have a lot more injuries that people don't see because they've all converted into PTSD!
