Agree! Cheap, uncomfortable shoes will do one of two things: either end up unused at the back of your closet, or send you to an expensive podiatrist, possibly for even *more* expensive foot surgery. In all fairness, though… the shoes that sent me to a podiatrist after only one wearing were pretty expensive (adorable, but so not worth the pain). Choose wisely!

I totally agree. Today I’m wearing a simple, solid gold, necklace that my Dad bought me for my sixteenth birthday fifty years ago (yes, that’s right, 50 years ago!) I don’t know what he paid, but whatever it was, he got his money’s worth. 😊 It looks as perfect now as the day I got it, with the bonus that I think of him every time I wear it.

Bras! A good supportive bra makes such a difference, it comes with a price but it's totally worth it. I wear the same 3 black bras all the time, I bought them years ago and there still in very good condition :)

Totally make it a series. Talk no more than one thing at once , like this one was only about jewellery.. I'd love to watch such shorts nd I'm sure other would love it too. No matter what u do in background, be it makeup, or decluttering, or maybe just cleaning some surface, whatever, even nothing. Thanks for the video, brought much sense to me❤

I totally agree except that even the Real Thing is not made to be worn sleeping, showering, gardening etc. Up from 14kt. gold it almost doesn't tarnish, that's true, but in can break, tangle, loose a stone and especially chains and bracelets can easier fall apart. Sure if you have a special piece that's very dear to or a wedding band, just wear it. It just has to be repaired or replaced eventually. I always tell my customers that their jewelry won't become prettier if they don't take it off while showering or sleeping. Often chains get ripped because they get tangled in towels or blankets. Good gilded pieces stay well for about a year, earrings and rings will last you shorter. How well it can be cleaned depends on the exact material. If it's real silver, it can at least be polished so that the silver shows again. Steel doesn't tarnish, but if it's gilded, you can just accept, when it turns brown. My main issue is that most of the trendy stuff even such pricier brands as Pandora or Thomas Sabo isn't not made to last, for often it can't be repaired or at least not properly. It's definitely better to own less pieces, but really quality ones. For the gold prices it at an all time high (and still rising) think about platinum. Or have a silver piece custom made by a goldsmith (real craftsmanship, not just personalized). That's even more ethical than all the fast fashion jewelry.

too broke to cheap out on shoes. a good quality pair of shoes make a difference in comfort and my knees and back vs wearing something cheap that end up causing me discomfort. also too broke to cheap out on outerwear especially winter coats. i want my coat to keep me WARM and cheap coats don't really do that - i mean unless you get one secondhand lol

Absolutely agree about buying 14K gold jewelry-nothing compares to real gold. If you can’t afford the real thing, ask your mom or grandmother if they have good pieces that they don’t wear. You might be pleasantly surprised. I’d rather wear (and gift) good family pieces.

Skincare and makeup! It doesn’t all have to be expensive, but if it truly makes a difference to my face, and lasts, protects my skin, etc., then I’ll spend the money and always use all of it. If it’s cheap or trendy, I end up tossing it anyway and wasting all that $$, or it makes me break out and then I need more makeup to combat new issues, etc.

I don't wear a lot of jewelry but I've reached the conclusion that it must either be proper real stuff that will last and last or it can be artistic costume which I probably made myself and constructed of honest materials that are often also reasonably durable because they're not pretending to be what they are not.

I only wear 14k+ WHITE gold, and Sterling Silver. My ears are sensitive, so only white gold for earrings. Don't buy cheap shoes. Don't buy cheap Outer Wear. I try to thrift as much as I can, and coats and jackets are worth a splurge because you wear them a lot. Pots and pans. Don't buy cheap stuff that will flake or rust, even if you gotta buy them 1 piece at a time. Learn how to refresh cast iron, thrift it, or invest in stainless steel pots slowly. Worth the money!

I spent so much on pure gold jewellery, but then I decided I didn’t like the design etc. I sold it to buy a pair of boots, which also I didn’t wear! Now I buy stainless steel which doesn’t tarnish and I is a fraction of the cost. Also it is just as pretty and I wouldn’t be so upset if I were mugged or the house was burgled. I just bought some adidas sambas, and took out the sole and put in my orthopedic insoles, I am wearing these everyday ❤🤦🏼‍♀️

I agree! Used to buy so many pieces from H&M, Zara, Uniqlo, but I’m sorry, the quality of fabrics just isn’t there! I don’t care what anyone says, I’ve bought from there hundreds of times, and it just doesn’t last! I had one shirt from H&M that lasted 10years and would have still lasted if it wasn’t too small. But that was bought 10years ago. Everything I’ve bought from these stores washed out, lost its shape, fell apart in the threading and just looks cheap after 1 wash or even on the hanger or person! (And yes we can tell when you e bought from these stores). It isn’t worth it. It’s rubbish quality! I’d rather save up for 1 more expensive than buy there nowadays. That’s coming from someone that grew up extremely poor and wore hand me downs from my older brother.

I'm actually personally not a fan of solid jewelry, all my jewelry is stainless steel. I don't feel as bad if i lose and earring or if something breaks. I'll still fix it of course but it's the most low maintenance jewelry ever. You still have to take care of solid gold and especially 14k. I'm definitely too poor rn to buy cheap shit so i buy good quality stainless steel pieces, which i can wear indefinitely. I never have to take them off and a good scrub with dishsoap is all u need for them to be looking brand new again. In the future when I do have more money I definitely will consider jewelry, it's a good investment, the value of gold always rises with inflation. Just probably not anything diamond

@@scegenius8751 I agree. I make high-quality beaded jewelry and none of my early pieces (25 yo) made with vermeil have lasted, even with light wearing and proper storage. Thicker *gold-plated* is much better. Better yet… a smaller, more delicate piece in actual, solid 18K. Sterling silver is great, too; it can always be brought back to life.
