It’s all been word of mouth. When I started I had another job. I decided to do a little cleaning on the side. Within a few months, I decided to quit my job and just do cleaning. It takes a lot of effort, trust, and work before you can convince someone to let you walk into their office or home unsupervised. Having said that, hiring trustworthy cleaners should be your highest priority as we believe that the greatest foundation of this business is built on trust.

Hi Angela, how do you clean a house that has 3 large dogs and there is hair EVERYWHERE including hot tub and shower… what ever I clean I leave hair behind… I also have an office that is the same way if not worse there is lots of dust and dog hair all over the place. It is typical in the cleaning industry to have annual price increases of 2-3% in price. If you've underbid, you may have to take it on a job by job basis and contact each customer to rewrite the terms of your agreement.

Deep cleaning can vary a bit depending on your client's needs and usually it targets those often-missed areas like cleaning appliances, dusting baseboards, doors and AC vents, disinfecting surfaces etc.

I wonder how long it takes to build enough clientele to quit a regular 14 dollar an hour job at 40 hours a week. How does one quickly build clientele. I have experience. And I wonder how much overhead I will need. I am.able to design a website. And then hire a tax professional to take out all required income tax. Talk to someone who already knows what to do. I am working alone right now.

Speaking to someone that is already in the business or getting a mentor witll help to guide you in the right direction and process of what you need to do. Not everyone builds a clientele fast. Eveyone is different. Good luck and wishing you lots of continued success.

You can teach people to hire or help them plan. A good manager does not know everything so they have people around them who do know. Give it tine people. Know that it's a process and adjustments must be made

I have the license an all but I will only take what I can do alone. So honestly for what I do, it don’t take all that hiring an stuff. It’s super hard work. I’ve been cleaning for 7 years and I’m finally just getting the courage to start my business. The scariest part for me is hiring because I have watched my employers struggle to find good employees. I know I’ll show up, but will they?

Skipped around a bit throughout the video to see if you talk about anything juicy specific to the house cleaning hospitality industry and was disappointed to see that most/if not all of the advice you've been giving is just very generic, cookie cutter type advice that could be applicable to any business (marketing, hiring employees and/or they are no-call-no-show's, etc). Don't get me wrong, that's all good advice and what not, but I felt like the title was a bit misleading. A more accurate title could've just been "Things You Need to Know Before Starting Your Biz" or something along those lines. To give you some pointers on the type of info I'm looking for, would be things such as how in many jurisdictions, you'd be required to undergo a background check during the process of filing your business license if you plan on going into someone's home. If you're looking to do commercial kitchen cleaning, there may be specific licenses/certifications you'd need to have proving that you understand the importance of properly sanitizing working areas and how to clean the hood vent exhaust so the caked on grease/grime won't end up causing a fire, etc.

My point is you made a comment about it not being a real job, when in fact i don’t think professional cleaners get enough money for what we’re really worth in the work force . It’s most definitely a REAL job. PS: I brought my kids up on it.
