What you said toward the end here makes me think I should stay with Epson. I no longer use my printer much. It's Epson Artisan 837 which was used to print many projects a few years ago, including lots of disc printing. It has always been used with after market ink and refillable carts. Beyond a few little battles like "can not recognize..." and roller pickup issues, it has served me well. While it lasted I enjoyed my dream printer - The Epson Stylus 1400 - dream printer because it printed wide format, disc printing and at an economical price. I loved it so much I would have purchased a 2nd one when it died had it been available. I have for years a still-in-the-box Canon Pro 100. I never set it up because my printing needs had already slowed when I got it. Even when I wished for the wider capacity printing it offers, I didn't want it to sit and clog unused. I intended to follow your instructions for reusing the OEM carts when needed, but it sounds much more complicated than I need now. Do you think there would still be a market to sell it? And, if so, do you think it is still viable after sitting in the box for several years? Thank you.

Thanks for the great information about the printhead contacts - I do that for other things, but had not thought about it for the printer. Cheers!

Thanks for the video, Jose. I've been watching your videos and printing for years. Is the technique for refilling the ImageProGraf 4100 the same as the pro 1000? Is there anything different I need to do with the wide format pro printers from Canon compared to the pro 1000? I tried to write customer support at PC twice, but they never replied, so I'm hoping you can help.

I am wading through the volumes of confusing info on printing, the list: Printers (Final choices ET 8550, and the 5070)...Ink Types Dye Pigment, Paper companies with ICC profiles, Monitor Color check, Matting, Stretching, Gatorboard, foam board, Art Resin epoxy, Face mount, dry mount, .....on and on. This brings me to my question: I notice you use Qprint? rather than Epson or Cannon softwares, and I assume rather than Ps LRC . Is Qprint wirth the /$85 ????

Hola D.José Hace algun tiempo, intente entrar en uno de tus directos ,pero el idioma lo izo imposible. Veo que la traductora de youtube trabaja muy bien en los subtitulos y en los comentarios Te cuento que descubrí tu canal demasiado tarde, pues compre una canon 9500 mark2 por apenas 100$ incluidos gastos de envio en malas condiciones. A saber ,dejaron secar los cartuchos en el cargador ,pero con paciencia logre recuperar los inyectores (6 meses). Es compatible con windous 7 y las labores de mantenimiento se realizan desde el ordenador. Con windous10 se me bloqueó y eso puso fin a mi aventura, Comprar nuevos cartuchos y llevarla al taller , gastar para quedarme en lo mismo. Hoy la hecho de menos , por no poder imprimir soportes rigidos. Compre la canon 300 pro y me parece una impresora magnifica, compatible con windous10, y cuatro tintas para B/N (PENTAX K3 monocromo), puede gastar las PGI lucia y las PFI de la PRO1000. En fin creo que he hecho una buena compra y me alegra el poder comunicartelo. . el mantenimiento lo hace desde la propia impresora, un acierto - Gracias por estar ahí, saludfitos

As long as live I will never understand why people try to save pennies by not using the OEM ink Carts. It will never ever save you money in the long term, far from it...... it will cost you a lot in wasted paper + substandard prints and possible damage print heads. I would rather take up sewing and ditch photograph than go cheap on inks.
