you can use old used parts, just always check the reviews to make sure it’s not faulty.
Also, once you have all your programs installed and desktop customized to your liking, create a FULL SYSTEM DISK IMAGE BACKUP. I can't stress enough how important this is! Then, if your computer gets a virus or messed up, you can restore back to this point. It will save you the hell of reinstalling the OS and having to reinstall your programs. If you do ever need to restore, be sure to run updates on everything.

If I have 300 gb worth of stuff on the drive, do i need 300gb of backup space?
@mchenrynick
2 жыл бұрын
@@Manimanocas It compresses your files, but it's always a good idea to use a backup drive that's larger. Over time, you're likely to install more programs as well as they will get larger with updates. This will avoid any "not enough space" problems down the line when you backup again :)
I mean, Windows Defender is good enough 99% of the time. Of course, having extra protection isn't a bad thing, but I don't think it's a necessity unless you have really important files on your computer or something.

Now I have a question. How much energy can the power saving mode really save? I'm relating to the environment. I think that this depends more of the hardware actually. But I guess it's good to know.
@Thormosphere
Жыл бұрын
Did you get an answer?
@samitechcookie9758
Жыл бұрын
@@Thormosphere nah but standby mode actually turns off almost all of the components. The only thing that is powered is the RAM (storing your OS session) and maybe the CPU for receiving a wake-up signal, depending on setting also mouse and keyboard for wake-up. Imo following insight is for an active use of the computer and becomes quite significant when we consider the massive amount of personal computers (clients, which don't have to run at max all the time). Assumably the clock speed of CPU and GPU (using special software) are the main determining factors when it comes to required power input. But it also controls standby timeout, display on time, USB save mode and other stuff. You could definitely go ahead and disable/close unnecessary or power hungry apps to reduce the needed processor power. Also, I think it helps to set your network card output limit to the next step above your internet speed to save some power. Power saving mode CPU clock can be overridden by BIOS settings, at least for AMD CPUs. For example you have dynamic clock speed enabled in the BIOS, then the Windows power mode setting might not have any effect. You have to check how your clock works on different power modes, you can test it with different min values. If it doesn't act the way you set it up to, then changing the BIOS power mode is an option. Usually tho, by default it should be set to automatic frequency change. GPU also eats a lot of energy when running at full power. Hard drives nowadays (HDD and SSD) require low amount of electrical power. Monitor power heavily depends on energy class and brightness. That being said, it's relatively easy to help the environment to recover a bit by managing our devices' electrical consumption.
So helpful thank you very much :)
Great video!!! Getting a new computer soon!!!

I like your content a whole lot, but I just wanted to say a couple things. I work in IT Security and have for over 10 years. Unless you are running a business and are going to be targeted specifically, the normal Windows Defender that comes pre-installed for free is plenty for most home users. Most anti virus software is near enough to spyware, I wouldn't want it on any computer anyway. Also ex-a-cute-able, not exec-ute-Able, just something to consider.

I was not even searching for this, I was looking for what was causing my pc to run super laggy and slow & it’s a 2 year old desktop came across this guy’s channel and problem solved!
Hey Joe, this isn’t a problem but it’s a feature I wish I had (I am running windows 10 Pro). When I boot the computer up, there are certain things that slow it down because they are “in the startup” folder. Point is I WANT them to be in the startup folder. (I have already taken out the things that I don’t want to be in there. So that’s not the issue.)The issue is I would like to have (e.g.) a little box appear (like “READY”) on the screen when the computer is really ENTIRELY booted up. The reason is that if you go to use the computer before it’s totally up (When it appears to be!!) things aren’t always ready to work as well yet.
Very helpful video man 10/10 video in my opinion I just got a new pc and know nothing about tech so this helped me allot
