Things to do in Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay & Eden: Melbourne to Sydney Drive

Discover the whitest sand beach in the world: Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. The Sapphire Coast in New South Wales is an absolutely mind-blowing road trip if you're making your way from Melbourne to Sydney via the coastal route.

After we said 'Sayonara' to Victoria and crossed into New South Wales, our first stop was the beautiful township of Eden, roughly a 4-hour drive from Lakes Entrance in Gippsland. From there, it's super easy to explore the vast and scenic Ben Boyd Park and the town's gorgeous beaches and coastlines.
2 days later, I've made up my mind about where I'm going to retire. Plans sorted. We then drove another 2 hours to Bermagui, which was a perfect halfway point to stretch our legs, whip out a picnic and run amuck at the stunning Blue Pool Bermagui. You absolutely have to stop here to admire and enjoy this incredible little spot and, if the weather permits, go for a dip inside.
The real stunner was Hyams Beach located in the bottom half of Jervis Bay in New South Wales. If you want to dig your feet into some of the finest and whitest sand beach in the world, then a few nights here (or even a week) is absolutely necessary. Only a 2-hour day trip from Sydney, Jervis Bay Australia is the perfect getaway from the city to get back in touch with nature. It certainly is one of the most breathtaking Sydney beaches, or probably, in all of Australia. Prove me wrong.
If Jervis Bay isn't on your Melbourne to Sydney itinerary, then you need to rejig that entire plan - right now.

Wow, we had never heard of Eden before, but definitely looks like retirement material, an awesome old skool town with that beach/water lifestyle 😎👍Haha, loving the zombie mum while dads trying to finish dinner 🤣 Ohhh tough call on the most beautiful beach, but one would for us would definitely have to be Ama beach on Zamami island. We camped out there one weekend, maybe 15 years ago and had the beach to ourselves, with great snorkelling during the day and amazing starlit sky at night.

How good is the Blue Pool and Hyams beach. WOW 😯 Honestly, I hadn’t heard of it until I saw your pics on Facebook. Have you guys ever been to Whitehaven beach in the Whitsundays? I wonder how they compare?

Looking forward to visiting Jervis Bay soon. Cheers for the video. Squeaky beach at Wilson's Prom is my favourite beach so far. Hyams may take the mantle. Can't wait to find out.

I drove from Canberra to Melbourne via the coast once. It is awesome while you are in NSW but soon after crossing the border the road cuts inland and isn't that spectacular. I seen some roads going to beaches which I would love to visit if I had more time but they were roads you couldn't continue on from it was like 60km odd road to the beach and that same road back to continue on.
