I love shiba inus. My sister has one that she rescue and that dog has such a unique personality and is very cat like! I like their independent behavior.

Yep all 3 are spot on, especially the last one! My Sana really doesn't like being petted by strangers. She usually dodges them and gives the side eye whenever they reach towards her😪

Yes same. He’s very picky and does not trust strangers 🫣 especially if they are too intense with him haha!

Yep, have to agree…both my guys are super snobs. Asking is a very handsome fellow.

I feel so lucky about my Shiba he gives me kisses all the time and he's not picky about saying hi to humans he does it to everybody It feels amazing. I agree with a lot you said. But the part of they want their own space I 100% agree with you. I think every receiver I seen online is like that but mine I doubt that's the case every time I'm working he hast to come to me every hour and a half just to be like we can do something now.?

First 2 are Spot On , as far as the 3rd ... mine is a Social Butterfly , he loves nearly everybody that gives him attention. He soaks it up like a sponge 🦊

I love my Shiba ❤ and cant imagine other dogs ever again

Yuki, my Shiba is almost five. She is a little socialite, absolutely demands pets and attention from everyone. She also refuses to let me sit on the couch or lay down in bed without being glued to me. The only problem I had with her was training her as a puppy. She is not food or toy motivated, attention was the only way I could get her to learn anything, except for a few things she learned because I believe she was interested in them. She really likes learning different phrases for where I want her to go in the house. "Go say hi" and pointing at someone gets her to run up to them, "bed time" means hop in bed, "who is that" and pointing at someone gets her to look at them but not run up to them.

All are very true but they do change as they growing up, going to be more calm and friendly to people or other dogs (or just because they don't care anymore lol ) I am with my 2nd Shiba (Had a pug in between) and still feel it's the best breed for me. And you are right, we should be proud to be a shiba owner because the effort we put in daily training since day one ;)

haha i am so looking forward to see Aoki evolve! this breed is so special and not very well understood but so beautiful!

My Corgi (smart and picky) has had a ton of Shiba friends, great dogs :)

Our first Shiba Yoshi is just like yours! He gives a little attention and loves to cuddle sometimes when sleeping but other than that he doesn’t even want attention. We got another shiba Luna last week and she is the complete opposite!! She loves showing affection and kisses and hugs and wants to be with us all the time. Maybe Shiba males are way more independent and only want attention when they want it! 🤷🏻‍♀️ either way we love our fur babies!!

Yes, I think that females have more chance to be more cuddly. I noticed that from seeing my friends’ female Shibas 😯
