Anyone who says that bass isn't important should edit the bass out of a song and give it a listen. All the song's balls are gone. What is missing is a lot of bands are creative bass players. Playing the root notes on occasion is understandable, but you're better than that. Be creative.

Morbid Emperor I’m not new to metal. I’ve been listening to it for my whole life. Deathcore draws elements from Death metal and metalcore. Metalcore draws elements from Hardcore punk and Heavy metal. At this point, due to the amount of subgenres metal holds. It is considered to be more of an umbrella term. Just because a subgenres draws elements from other genres outside of metal. That doesn’t make it not metal. An example of this is symphonic metal which has orchestral elements in it. You would still consider that metal though wouldn’t you?

I was super into Lost Prophets, P.o.D., and Creed back in Jr. High and High School. Mainly because of movies that their songs appeared in. Creed is still objectively good as far as their songs are concerned. Just listen to them and they aren't bad songs. It's mainly Scott Stapp's vocal style that quickly became a joke. I literally did an impression of Scott Stapp during my Cold Stone Creamery job interview and they laughed so hard they hired me. If that doesn't tell you something about Creed, I don't know what else to say hahaha.

They’re def metal. They just have a very diverse sound. Also people tend to complain about Matt shadows because he used to growl and now he doesn’t. But tbh it just goes to show that they are an immense talent being able to pull off so many different styles. They are and will always be one of my favorite METAL bands.

So story time about people in school: we played this stupid game like musical chairs only you stood in the middle and said something about yourself (e.g. I have green eyes) and anyone who was the same stood up and you switched seats and there was a new person in the middle and so on. The day before we played this I'd revealed to my whole year that I regularly fell asleep to LeATHERMØUTH - a hardcore punk/post-hardcore band fronted by Frank Iero; released one album in 2009. So anyway this guy, thinking he's funny gets up and says "I listen to emo, screamy, heavy, death, grunge, satanic music" (or something to that effect) which is obviously aimed at me especially since he was looking at me the whole time. So up I got, saying that rock and metal would have sufficed - not all the music I listen to is heavy or screamy, I like Kirsty McColl for gods sake!
