Tape around the caps of the Crayola markers was just such a brilliant idea. Imagine having 35 of those sets of markers to account for at the end of each class period.

Agree! I so wish I could rewind and redo all of it over again, even in the crazy busy times. My 3 children are in their 30’s now. I too, homeschooled. Oldest 2 1/2 years apart ~ the next two are 15 months apart … whew! No support. My mother had already passed. But … so many sweet times ~ memories. Soak it all up!!!

Um, I wasn't born yet, and half of these things I haven't thought of either... Are you trying to say you built a box with pretty Christmas lights for your children 45 years ago??? Or knew how to salvage a desk plastered with stickers? Seriously... Just plain rude and disrespectful... Also, there was no KZread nor any Google back then either, soooo... Your inability to share this with new moms to share with new moms etc etc.... As a brand new Mom who has a little one really going through her teething... I wish more of you know-it-alls would quit judging and actually share the wealth of knowledge ... Making our babies suffer so you can laugh at us is beyond the cruelest thing ever ...

For me, my experience was that it was hard and wonderful in equal measure - but all of it so exhausting! Now, as a gran, I have discovered that the hardest days of all, are those when they've all grown up and you miss them being all little and needy and adorable - and then the most wonderful days come when the grandchildren arrive and you have those days back again, but it isn't a day in, day out kind of thing - though still pretty exhausting lol! 🥰

These are all excellent hacks. Thank you for sharing them with us. As for the ending note... Yes, tomorrow will be hard like today was. Tomorrow may be difficult at times. Tomorrow may even have challenging moments. As a parent, you get rewarded as well. You get the reward of the love of your child in return for the love you give to them. You get the reward of the joy of watching them learn and grow as you teach them about life. You get the reward of the inner peace and the deep satisfaction of knowing that you are doing your best to teach your child how to be the best human that you possibly can. You are showing your child love that they will in turn share with everyone in their world for the rest of their lives. These are precious and priceless things that only a parent experiences. These things make the hard, difficult, and challenging days worth it. These are the gifts that you can reflect on at the end of the day, no matter how hard the day was. You can look forward to all of tomorrow's challenges with all of the love, joy, and satisfaction that comes along with those challenges. No matter how hard, how difficult, or how challenging a day is; it is also full of rewards. As you experience the gift of parenthood and watch your precious treasure of a child grow into the young person that they could only become because of the love that you gave them and the life lessons that you taught them; you get to live in the rewards in every moment, in every hug, in every "I love you mommy or daddy", in every laughter filled smile, and in every time you get to watch as they sleep peacefully and safe because of you. That's a reward in itself. Enjoy all of your tomorrows!

Tip from a mom of five: ditch the dryer! Seriously, you’re better off buying the stuff to be able to hang everything dry, even if you have to do so indoors because of climate/weather or local ordinances that prohibit clothes lines. The heat of the dryer permanently sets in stains you might miss or that didn’t come out completely in the first wash. If you hang dry, the stain has a chance of coming out in the next wash. If you live where you’re allowed to have an outdoor clothesline, GET ONE! Ever since I discovered that about the dryer, I’ve been able to save SO many of my kids clothes by using the sun to bleach out stubborn stains! Buy the spiral hangers for sheets and blankets, clip hangers for drying socks and underwear, and if you get the right kind of clothesline with holes in it, you can use pant hangers and regular hangers of the right sizes for your shirts, which will let you cram a whole lot of laundry on your lines, AND it allows clothes to dry in the right shape so that your hung/line dried clothes are indistinguishable from tumble dried clothes. It’s cheaper in the long run as well. When I realized all of this, I gave up on my dryer and knocked a sizable chunk off of my gas and electric bills!

How brilliant some of these tips can apply to us adults as well! Like, I use baby wipes to clean my sensitive skin for the pass, maybe 4 or 5 years? When I first saw the popsicles, I thought maybe for space saving reasons until I saw it is to cut in half. Anyone who is guardian to canines who mess with toilet paper, an idea for you as well. I no longer have an itty bitty on me anymore but, 😭😭, grown man on me ( no, he is not allowed to be 21 this year ), but glad I watched. No grandbabies either. But some I learned for myself, and can send to my eldest niece for my very first great-niece. I am sooooo excited becoming a great-aunt even though I may not see them much due to distance. I can also send to my brother to give to his live-in partner so she can use on their baby who will be 1 later this year. Edit: I forgot about the clothes packing. Even when too warm for coat or hoodie, I will try a new way to pack for myself, see if I can space save.

It soothes the skin. Also may be good for itchy or dry skin.😊

Oats can clog drains, even if you grind it first. I reckon it sticks once it dries up in drain.

I did this in a nylon footie stocking, in the bath, when the kids had chicken pox, to help relieve itching

This is how creative we were as poor kids in the 70s and 80s. Not having, makes you very creative. Now a days not wanting to spend the ridiculous prices for things that don't cost the manufacturers much is a great incentive. And kids lose interest quickly with a lot of things so save your money.

You don't ever put anything with adhesive, including shoes, into the dryer. You air dry them. It's unfortunate that it took you getting a kid to realize that because unless you have it set to no heat, you were wearing out your shoes at a higher rate than they needed to be!
