In this video, I discuss thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and use this technique to examine how effectively a chemically active extraction separates an organic acid from a non-acidic compound.
This experiment is based on a procedure described in the CHEM 216 Lab Manual, which was prepared by several members of the organic chemistry faculty at Cal Poly.
