Your videos are darling Hannah and I hope the negative comments do not discourage you! As a reminder to anyone looking to leave a similar comment, please understand that this is what real people are like. KZread was meant to be a site to showcase the daily life, not a high-end, luxuriously produced TV show. The setup might be primitive but that is the raw, real and genuine person with a passion using a platform to express themselves and their craft. Even if there might be people out there that go all out and bring you the luxury experience, this is not a norm nor should it be.

Hi, Hannah ❤ here to say that I have never thought that your videos lack anything in terms of quality, either of production or content. You bring a unique thoughfulness, intentionalality and kindness, which makes watching your videos a complete joy. I know that I click on your videos first out of all of my subscriptions because YOU make them so magical. I'm so glad that you have put in boundaries to protect yourself in this season, and I hope that creating your videos only adds to the joy you feel this advent season.

Hannah, you are truly one of the best (in my opinion, at least) content creators out there. I've been loving your pattern round up videos, they're so full of inspiration! Don't apologize for not doing Vlogmas, please soak up all the family time and joy you can this holiday season! Be gentle with yourself 💛

Hannah, your channel is refreshing and so enjoyable. Please don't take negative comments as personal assaults. You're doing a great job! Since your son loves the Advent so much, you could consider knitting him an Advent calendar with each day being a tiny Christmas themed item that he could add to a Christmas tree!

Hannah this is my first time watching you. Your quality is FINE. I'm enjoying this video and you have nothing to apologize for. I will continue to tune in as time permits. Regarding losses this year, my heart is with you and your husband. My daughter and son-in-law have suffered from this as well and I conpletely understand the "too soon" feelings. Sending new knitting friend love to you this holiday season. Keep it up girl!

I've watched your videos for awhile and I just love your energy so much. Your channel is such a calming, beautiful place to come to. I know the negative comments can really stand out among positive comments, but I just want you to know you're so appreciated by 99% of us!!! Also - I've just loved seeing your progress with mouche and friends because it's such a wonderful small/slow body of work (in a world of seeing everyone knit a sweater a week!), and also because they are so adorable!

Omg I’m so sorry that people have left such nasty comments on your videos. You are honestly one of my favorite knitting podcasters, and your videos bring me so much joy. I found you this year, and your stash video introduced me to one of my new favorite yarns (good wool), so I’m always excited to watch your videos and see what your working on/with. Also, this is just my opinion but I’ve watched a TON of knitting podcasts and I feel like yours is one of the higher quality ones. I’m sorry you are feeling so down, but hopefully the holiday season will lift you up!

Hannah, I love watching your videos. I love the projects you work on, your perspective, and your vibe. We are all not everyone's cup of tea, and people have the choice to move on or sit here and criticize. Like Laura Penrose says, that's on them. It's not your responsibility to cater to everyone. You do you. You are doing an amazing job. And thank you for sharing the vulnerable/hard parts of your life-- we all know life is not perfect, and it helps to hear influencers acknowledge that.

Dear Hannah, I had to write something after your thoughts. I really love your content for who YOU are. You are sweet and kind, you are authentic and real and you have a beautiful color palet and wonderful knits. I love that you are relatable and honest and I have never thought anything bad about the quality of your videos. I am always looking forward to seeing them and knitting alongside you. (I am making my first pair of DK Socks by the way: I chose the mountain walk socks chunky by florence). As to your lost pregnancys. I am so so sorry you had to go through this twice! I know from personal experience how hard it can be to grieve a lost baby and I really think it is wise to not put any presure on yourself to vlog when you're not feeling well. Give yourself the time you need❤ I'm looking forward to see the rest of the video now. And I can't wait to see a round up of all your knits this year hopefully soon? These kinds of videos are my favourite and that video from last year made me discover your chanel. I'm so happy I found your little cornor in the Internet:) much love!

Hi Hannah. This is my first time leaving a comment but I've been watching your videos for some months now. Thank you so much for being so open about the ups and downs of making content for all of us to enjoy. I personally find your videos very relaxing and they tend to save them as little pick-me-up after a stressful day of work or when I just want an extra bit of chill joy over the weekend. Your energy is very positive and friendly in a subdued and easygoing way which is just what I'm looking for. That being said, I very much respect that you are prioritizing your own well being when it comes to how much you're willing to share and thank you for everything you do share. Today I followed along while working on my Romy jumper (designed by Along avec Anna) and made some progress on my second sleeve (so close to being done now!)

Hannah, people can be so incredibly insensitive and have zero filters when it comes to commenting behind a screen and voicing their unwanted opinions on the internet!! I 100% hear you on yes to constructive feedback, and "no thank you" to rude/mean/unwarranted comments. It's so hard when 99% of the interaction is positive and kind and that 1% just sticks out so sorely. We don't live our daily lives with "perfect" lighting or "perfect" sound checks or "perfect" anything. We live an unedited life that just keeps rolling. If anyone wants to do Vlogmas (regardless of what equipment they have or don't have), I say "go for it!" and if anyone doesn't, I say "good for you!" We each have our own unique stories to share and our own ways of sharing. Thank you for being you and for going with your gut on what feels right for you and your family - that's the best we can do for ourselves really! Adorable blue mittens and the cutest little sweater! Sending love dear Hannah ❤❤❤ I don't have a yarn advent either! A chocolate advent sounds DELISH. Got my husband the Bonne Maman one last year and this year - it's really one for both of us or all of us because we'll save the week's worth to open on the weekend and I'll make crepes for us to try all the jams! I have been doing a tree advent for my two children since 2020. It's a wooden tree that stands and has little 1.5" x 1.5" boxes. I painted them so they kinda fit together. In each box is a Christmas-related message that I try to have the kids leave in there for each year but some I think we need to re-write because they've gone missing.... I fill each box with Lindt chocolate balls (they JUST fit in), Andes mint chocolates, lifesaver mints, 5g yarn balls (remaining from previous projects), trinkety things, band-aids, stickers, etc. It's so fun!

Sorry to hear of your family’s losses this year. I know there are better days to come. I do enjoy your videos a lot. I don’t mind that some channels have very edited or curated content and others are pared down. They are all worth the watch. Our skills are always growing and changing. Maybe one day you will be queen of the edit or the vlog, or maybe you won’t. Both are okay. I’m working on a test knit for Andrea Gaughan today. And thinking about some socks I want to try soon. I did save your DK socks video and also some things I’ve seen on IG lately. The front runners for me are the Thicksgiving socks Andy the Nest Socks. Thanks for sharing!

From the video quality to the sound quality to the framing of your background and editing - I think it's really well done and I would be super surprised to hear that there are folks who think otherwise! That's super sweet that your son loves opening the advent calendars together :) I'd never had an advent calendar before but my partner got me a stitch marker advent calendar this year and it's been super fun too! Totally hear what you mean about having too many small projects - I've been working on knitting a ton of tiny things for a Christmas garland, and I'm def ready to be done with it and go back to my long term sweaters ha! Happy Holidays to you and your family!

I just stumbled across your blog and I think you are a little hard on yourself. I think you did a great job and I loved watching and listening. I’m sorry about the lost pregnancies, I can’t imagine how hard that is. It makes having your son so much more precious. I couldn’t hear any sirens in the video and you can’t control what is happening outside your home. It would be very emotional and hard to read/listen to people’s rude and negative comments. If you don’t like what they are watching or hearing, they can turn it off and watch something else. I think you did an amazing job and I will be watching for more. Thank you and have fun with your projects. I’m currently working on a scrappy advent pair of socks and a scrappy advent cowl, both of which I made up for myself from leftovers. I too love watching the beautiful advents being opened but can’t justify the expense of them and would I make something worthwhile for the cost of them. Probably not. That’s my justification anyway. Pretty colors are always available, we don’t need them to cost twice as much because they are made into an advent calendar. I love the one your mom got you. Very thoughtful of her. Have a wonderful holiday season.

I'm sorry you had such difficult personal experiences this year. Keep doing what you like and fuck anything anyone has to say that is not constructive. I have a lot of issues with sound and editing too and it can be difficult to upload something that I know has flaws (although i dont have any viewers so that offers some comfort lol). I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos and seeing the projects you're working on. You have introduced me to so many new yarns that I can't wait to try. I also really respect your commitment to maintaining privacy around your life when so many people think putting everything online is the way to go. You show a level of thoughtfulness about how you want to live your life and raise your child that is a relief from the norm. I hope you have a happy and relaxing holiday season. Oh, and thanks for reminding me that I forgot to fill my advent calendar 😂.

I have always wondered what the vlogmas attraction is. It reminds me of the movie “The Truman Show”. I have also thought that showing videos of your personal life, especially including your children, to total strangers could be dangerous. There are troubled people out in the world who aren’t in the real world. I think you are actually protecting yourself and your family.
