Absolute legend, I was unfortunate not to be alive in the 80s to witness the success Liverpool had but to hear the stories of this man and what he’s done for the city of Liverpool and him as a human being, there’s no better person that deserves the title of a legend than King Kenny. YNWA

@@nealefrancis9094 His actions after the Hillsborough disaster, going to all of the graves of the 96 at the time, now it’s 97. He’s a man of the people and for everything he’s done for Liverpool football club, from player to then manager to now ambassador of the club.

I first saw him live playing for Celtic then, after he moved to Liverpool, every week of Match of the Day. Also saw him many times playing for and scoring for Scotland. What a talent… one of the best players from these islands. I was also married in the same church as he got married in!

King Kenny has been my idol since I was a wee boy. Liverpool for LIFE.

I was 8yo when Shanks arrived and by the time I was 10, I could listen to him talk all day. It was the first time in my young life that I consciously admired someone, I was mesmerized by him and his attitude that players were there to play for those fans standing in the ground watching the games was totally genuine in him, that´s what he believed and pretty soon so did we :) Absolutely loved the man and the influence of him is almost sowed into the very foundations on which Anfield is built! Never should anyone underestimate what that man did for LFC, its fans and the city itself. In my 70s now and Shanks is still my all time hero.

So true. When Shanks first came, Liverpool were like what Birmingham City are now!

I had the greatest time of my Liverpool support when I was fortunate enough to get tickets for the Liverpool directors box; I think it was 1988 at Charlton. I remember going to have a chat with Kenny as he was rounding up the players to leave. When I got to him he was on his own and I didn’t know what to say. I just said “ When are the players going “. He said” I’ve just told them we’re leaving now”. I was so in awe and couldn’t find any words to say. I just said “Okay” and walked away. He was my hero and I missed an opportunity to have a chat, but at least I had that encounter. He was a quiet man with a great presence.

After the 82 Wc in spain there were people saying his international career was over. Try google the two goals dalglish scored against a strong Belgium side in 1982 EC qualifier. Simply magnifique.

Heroes stay in the hearts of people not just because of what they are good at but more so because of their humility and kindness to fellow people. King Kenny is one of those few heroes.

REAL LEGEND

I see a lot of similarities between Klopp and the great managers of the past . Humble , hardworking and honest men , who were great at getting everyone involved to share their vision . Liverpool have their superstars , but I don`t see them as "big heads" - unlike many other clubs . As Kenny says , the continuity isn`t there , like it used to be . Clubs just aren`t structured like this anymore .

Kenny Dalglish 1977-1991 and 2011-12. Played with Rush, Souness and Hansen. Signed John Barnes, Luis Suarez and Jordan Henderson. Won over 30 major trophies and scored 173 goals and countless individiual awards. 100 caps for Scotland. Great goalscorer and elite creative player. Scored great goals and created even better goals. Never has one man had such a huge impact on a single club in English football history

After all these years, Kenny still has a thick Glasgow accent. Is right the king.

He asked me what type of player Dalglish was. I just nodded and smiled. Better Dave found out for himself.

Always find it ironic when Liverpool “fans” have the audacity to slander Scotland/Scottish football when the Scots 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 have done more for Liverpool FC than ANY other nation! (including England) The reason why Liverpool are where they are today is because of figures like Sir Kenny Dalglish, Bill Shankly, Graeme Souness, Alan Raisbeck, Alan Hansen, Gary McAllister, Steve Nicol, Billy Liddell, Ian St. John, Andy Robertson and more! Not to mention Virgil Van Dijk made his name at Celtic who brought him to British football and gave him his first taste of playing for a big club! Yet they’ll quite happily slander our game... Ironically Ben Doak has signed for Liverpool from Celtic today, another talented young Scot who could go on to have a great future at Liverpool! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
