Listen up, filmmakers and KZread creators. If you think hitting virality is a one-way ticket to success, think again.
Ever had that golden moment where one of your videos hit the jackpot? Millions of views, an explosion of new followers - you felt invincible. But then your follow-up videos tanked, and those new followers? Ghosts.
Failure stings, doesn’t it? That’s where I come in.
This isn’t just your sob story. ‪@DangieBros‬ know the drill - they crashed and burned in the aftermath of their viral hit because their storytelling and video editing were grade F. I’m here to dissect that disaster and trust me, I won’t be gentle.
If you're desperate to not just hit the viral jackpot but actually stay on top, it’s time for a reality check. Learn the brutal truths of storytelling and video editing that nobody else has the guts to tell you. Welcome to the school of hard knocks, where failure is the best teacher and I’m your no-nonsense guide.
Want to be a filmmaker or KZread creator who doesn’t just bask in 15 minutes of fame but actually masters the art of viral content? Stick around. Your education is just beginning.
I'm Hayden Hillier-Smith. On this channel I will break down what makes good editing...pulling back the curtain on how editors make the choices to keep YOU, THE AUDIENCE, engaged. This includes showcasing the creative choices I have made. I hope you can learn something new and inspire you to edit.

I think this really highlights how little trust many creators have in their potential audience. It can cause us to want to rush through a story for fear that if we don't, we lose their attention. You're doing a great job at combatting this mindset that I think many of us have.

@@WrestlingColin True! But I could put in those countless hours and I am quite certain I would never even get close to what he is able to do. Techincally I'm sure I could learn all the editing software but in terms of HOW to use them best and the storytelling well that is akin to artist talent. I could spend 10,000 hours learning to paint or write songs but I won't be Picasso or the Beatles. So you need the hours and the innate artistic talent combined. The top influencers were smart. They realized they don't need to be editing and storytelling geniuses. They just need Hillier.

An example that came to mind 4:42 an example of what you're talking about that came to mind is James Bond. In the movies they always have a scene where he gets his fancy arsenal and we get an explainer of what happens. You get to latch onto it and have something to think about. You know he has a fancy laser watch or a car missile or something and you want to see how he's gonna use it. Also in anime they always delegate a lot of time to establishing a new characters strength.
