So 3 arrested arrived shortly from Bogota ,they had criminal records . He fired 8 times . Theft was ruled out. I am not a criminal investigator but sounds like a professional hit by professional sicario.

I witnessed the same numbers manipulation in Panama 2009-12. The guys who cut the grass on the expressway would find an arm here a leg there but not a whole body of the victims. The chief of police in the province told me that those aren't homicides because it's just a limb and not a body and so weren't counted. Morbid manipulation! Keeping the tourist gravy train running at all costs!

Man the camera system in Medellin are incredible.. more intense than NYC

Why isn't this camera surveillance being utilized in "less spectacular" crimes of doping, drugged and murdered tourists? Is it that Paisa' are fascinated with fireworks, explosions and gunfire, or that Medellin police are less fascinated with the other thirty+ murders committed in less spectacular fashion? Likely, the less spectacular murders...thought to be drug and sex oriented...have family, friends and acquaintances just as anxious for resolution of these crimes.

Stayed at The Wake Hotel in Provenza 5 days ago. Great restaurants and hotel policies

If this was some crime from a foreigner against a local like against minors, then the mayor would be quick to have his press conferences like he has in the past but crickets when it's a crime against foreigners

Interesting to note that DC Rob picked up...there are cameras all over Colombia, everywhere in Medellin...these criminal were tracked and promptly apprehended using camera surveillance. Why is it so difficult to use camera surveillance in less dramatic murders, robberies and molestations of tourists?

More to this story. No one just comes up to you and then boom.

I understand that the motive is a lot of money owed to Mr. Ledesma in Mexico. . The sicarios were hired in Bogota from Mexico. This was a professional hit job.

Well if they waited for him then it was a hit for whatever reason especially since only he was hit and in a group. Plus he was invited to a bachelor party, how did they know he was there? Hit, hit, hit. Could have happened anywhere but he was in Medellin and maybe easier there. But it really has nothing to do with being a tourist there unless there were innocent bystanders who were hurt or killed too and that’s not the case here.He was not a normal tourist so we need to keep it in perspective. Same with the Border Agents.
