They tried to tell us about Trevor Lawrence, he made us listen | College Football

Спорт

Trevor Lawrence made a big impression on every field he ever played on, from Knoxville, Tennessee to Cartersville, Georgia. But we didn't pay attention until he made his point on the big stage, when he helped take down Alabama in the National Title game.

I think the video addresses your question. The talking heads at ESPN (and others) never really believed Lawrence was good enough to take Clemson all the way. Esp. they didn't think he could beat Tua and Alabama. I lost track of how many times ESPN folks predicted a "freshman mistake" when Lawrence faced a big game. Des Howard summed up the thoughts at ESPN when he said before the Natty -- "Lawrence is a year too soon (to beat Bama)."

I think Trevor Lawrence is that type of guy who's a game manager and a great player he can see what's going on around heaven drink a great opportunity out of it and then he knows the guys that he's throwing to and what they can do so he is great at what he does.

I feel like the comments section of this video is going to degrade into a competition of who knew he was going to be great, the earliest... e.g. "I knew he was going to be great when he was still an undeveloped egg in his mother's ovary." I wasn't sold on the hype...I'll admit it. Here's the progression of my personal opinion of Trevor Lawrence as a QB. First..."Over hyped. Probably great in drills and in HS, but will flatten out in college." Second... playing at Clemson. Splitting time with the other QB. "Pretty good. Better than I thought, but still not as advertised." Third..."This kid's not too shabby." Fourth...ACC championship game. "This kid is for real." Fifth... Notre Dame game. "This kid is one of the best college QBs I've ever seen." Sixth... NC game against Alabama. "BEST COLLEGE QUARTERBACK EVER! This kid could start for any NFL team, right now." Now, I'm a Tennessee fan who lives in a part of Tennessee that has been infected with a plague of bandwagon-riding, front-running Alabama fans whose numbers seem to have grown at an exponential rate over the past 10 years. I'm not an Alabama hater (tons of respect for the program AND for the fans who have a legit connection to the state or the program) nor do I care about Clemson, one iota. However, it will be interesting to see how many of these bandwagon Bama fans will retire their "A" sticker for an orange tiger paw sticker after the next couple of seasons.

I’ve been an alabama fan my entire life but this guy is good. i don’t foresee him winning backtoback national championships because saban doesn’t roll like that and he’s not gonna let that happen, but when trevor gets in the nfl i’ll be rooting for him then but till then bama not losing another championship
