It was an even game both teams had xG of about 2 but Man U are a billion pound squad at home vs relegation fodder so it's not really bitter. Man U are a poor team you can dress it up however you want but it's true.

In fact, when they get battered and hold on for a 1-0 win from one shot on target, pundits will say it was well deserved and a great defensive performance. Where as if it was the opposite way round they'd call the big team fortunate. That's not exclusive to united, it's all big teams.

As a fan I will back fans and clubs who speak out rather than just accept useless apologies. Fans coming together & putting tribalism aside is helpful. Well done to Mark on this.

The referees and var should also be given cards to poor officiating, yellow for mild offences and red for serious one. Collect a red or enough yellows and you serve a suspension of x amount of games. The more you infringe the longer the suspension gets. There needs to be some accountability, without it they will not correct themselves. We're just out here hoping that the serial killer gets tired of murder wtf, there must be correct action. Referees' performance must be reviewed, if they struggle then we must help them, like performance management.

Good idea. In NFL bad officiating performance means an official has zero chance at being in the officiating crew at a Super Bowl. For football here there’s no consequence (don’t consider being given the day off / dropped down a league for a match a day punishment!).. instead off to the Euros!

I think saying let Newcastle spend the money is naive. PSG completely destroyed the transfer market and it still hasnt recovered since they spent nearly 400m on two players. As a Newcastle fan I completely agree. I don't want us to go down that route, even if we were able to. I want us to build a team of hard workers and nurture younger talent and not just throw massive money at huge names just to try and get short term success. And I don't see why Man City should be let off the hook.

The people that own City, PSG and Newcastle literally have hundreds of billions to throw around at random projects every year. They will completely destroy and overinflate football if you let them.

There’s a multitude of things wrong with VAR. The main one being, you’ve still got a couple of humans in the loop, that will leave it open to error and also subjective opinion. Also the fact they don’t take into account previous decisions from other games is just ridiculous. It’s like these refs are in some sort of entitled bubble.

Wasn't a handball for me. There's much, much more obvious examples to use than that for bad refereeing. Not a hill to die on. It's one of those where the initial decision is never going to be changed.

I think the FA Cup loss to Utd affected us. Our form went off a cliff after that. The season promised so much more, but if you'd offered me CL football and a cup after the way we played last season I'd have bitten your hand off.

Season ticket holder here. The fans I talked to were pissed with the players performance, most understood about the injury ridden squad we have had and didn't blame the bad results on ETH. Numerous conversations always ends up with sacking of managers always ends up with the same cycle, a massive clear out must happen. Don't try to squeeze untruth to fit your narrative.

Even if the referees got every decision correct this season, contact rules, especially inside the box, are entirely too soft imo. Not every little instance of contact has to be given as a foul. And because of how inconsistent the PGMOL has been, fans and players alike can either be expected to regard everything as a foul, or be aggrieved about all the fouls they didn’t get in their favor.
