I caught the beetles in the act of pollinating the sugar apple trees in my food forest. Check it out!

Great video. How did you attract the beetles?

Nitiduluid or sap beetles We have them in Egypt, they surely help in fruit setting, but I have found by practice that hand pollination firstly increases the fruit set, and secondly enhances the shape and quality of the fruit. Thank you for your video.

Nice to see your video, haven't seen much lately :) Trying to grow some sugar apple seeds I ordered on Amazon (from Viet Nam), but I think they are from last year and not going to sprout. Not sure how well they'll do in the Las Vegas area, will be growing in large pots. Those beetles look like some sort of japanese beetle from their basic shape, I'm sure someone will know better what they are.

@@wellkemp anona plants grow well from cuttings as well. Just stick them in the ground and they will root and send branches.

I'm getting conflicting info. I watched a vid that implied that is a Japanese beetle that is actually a pest

@@edwinrodrigues9747 I think they benefit from cross pollination. In my area there are plenty of avocado trees around though.
