I like the fact that they put all the keys on the same level. Children can get really confused by white and black keys because it makes them think there is some inherent difference between the notes of the white and black keys when it in fact just happens that we organize keyboards around c major. But getting that across can be hard, so the way they did it is way better.

I've tried out several instruments with my kid. The keyboard he liked by far the most was Yamaha Reface YC - easy to use, bang on the keys and it makes sounds, pull out the drawbars and it makes louder sounds. He usually ends up making some insane noises with full distortion, reverb and leslie, which make my head split in two, but he is very happy about them. Second place would be the Electribe 2 (synth version) - lot's of blinking lights, funny preset tunes. After that, old Philicorda organ, Korg Wavedrum and Tenori-On. Sticking patch cables into a Doepfer Dark Energy was also great fun, though not exactly musical. I've tried showing him Korg Tiny Piano, but it's a bit too basic and not hands on enough to hold his interest for long at this age. Oh, and when he was a total toddler (like 3 months) he seemed to enjoy playing a Theremin.

This reminded me when my daughter was preschool age we played with SSEYO Koan and Magix Studio sample library it was awesome. We also had a drawing pad that created generative music and a toy that created music based on motion and vibration sensors will see if I can recall from the memory banks.
