Do Patreons need to do something special? Technobear made a post about it before the forum closed and I didn’t save the instructions...!

Any other good equipment for kids? My class also has a Blipblox, but I often find that kids kinda get a little tired as at any time, each knob doesn't really have much effect on the sound, and you can't play any notes, yourself.
Five year old: reads the manual Me: "yay! stickers!"
Awwww so cute, I like that your daughter intuitively played along with you. The concept works.
The perfect gift for someone else's children.

We love you Bo but we also wouldn’t complain if you just let the kids run the channel from now on
6:21 is gold lol.
They are your finest masterpieces! Nice to see kids getting into synthesis. There is hope for the next generation. Best to you Bo!
For that price they should have included sampling. Sampling is fun.
I commend you Bo ! This is the kind of cutting edge programing we've come to expect from your channel ! Good on ya !
Super cool little synth! What fun for kids--and what cute kids you have! Well done-will pass this along to my kids too
Awwww. Adorable! Great vid, Bo! :)
Beautiful kids!!!!!!! So adorable , both of them - I think Liv has your eyes, Bo! :) And one can tell at 6:18 that Vide already loves music and beats!! :-D The synth sounds quite beefy. This made me evening, thank you - It seems yesterday to me that my three were that age and playing the 909 / 808 / 30 - and yesterday, my daughter graduated high school :-D Enjoy these moments forever, they grow fast! :)
So cute Bo!!! Love it ♥️♥️♥️
I love this. Fantastic. I think we need to get one of these.
This is so precious!!!!!!!

SynthMania Hey Paolo!!! Great to see you here!
Man oh man I gotta get some of these for my students!! Thank you!
That was great Bo, thanks for posting this. What a great piece of kit to spark that interest in early sound design - and having fun! I would have loved that as a kid, yours certainly seem to! The sound at 5:40 could quite easily be from a track created by more ‘adult’ synths. Cool!
Great video! So cute... I love seeing all of the KZread trends ripple through all of my favorite creators channels... 😀 My 5-year-old ran over to watch with me!
Grats on another great video and especially for your sweet kids 😁👍 where do you always find those curious "toys"?
I can remember when I was young and still read manuals.
Bo is greatest music supervisor of all time. The music choices were great and fit very well!
Surprise! Surprise! Played with the DATO DUO at Superbooth but didn't get so much out of it thst time. Great intro to that synth! 💪🏼 ...and a cute dad! 😉
This...this is adorable.
Same moves like daddy have. ♥️♥️♥️
its so cute baby!!!! i subed your channel!!! good work!!💓😍😍😍😍
Thanks Bo for showing me what to buy my kids for Christmas! It’s going to be a blast and it hopefully replaces the old Casio keyboard they keep playing on! Can’t wait for Christmas now. ;)

Sooo 🥰 Cute!!! And very cool!!
I love the idea behind this synth, and your presentation of it! Would like to buy one, but can't quite justify the price.

the price is indeed hefty
Very cute kids. I’ve been looking into getting a synthesizer to play with my children or between themselves. I love that daddy can utilize it with his other gear 😂. Midi and sync is awesome! Could use a keyboard and a drum machine! Once I can afford this I’ll have to look into this for my girls. Thanks BoBeats!

@@BoBeats Great suggestion, thank you!
"Not annoying at all" is something you'll be saying a lot if you keep it. I always marvel at kids ability to continue making annoying sounds without any sign of slowing down 😅
Must be a lot of fun. Even dato is for kids its actually pretty good.
Happy New Year Bo!! I love this synth. However it's so hard to find, and rather expensive for a child's synth/toy. As an alternative I played with #blipbox . It's not as in-depth a synth as the #dato but it does have some very appealing and attractive features. Also, in Canada it is about half the cost of a DATO. As always, your fan #AudioFetus
Next make a video of your two cuties having a go at this synth , pure spontaneous jam. no parental interference !
oh my god they’re so cute i could die
I've never smiled so much watching a synth review :D. I will definitely buy this one to my friends kids.. I mean.. I would be a bad (step)uncle if I didn't ;D Edit: how sturdy is it, liquids, dirt etc?
@BoBeats
5 жыл бұрын
It can take a few drops, but definitely not water. Dirt should be ok but if it gets into the machine.. well its not sealed
Cool stuff :-)
Vide? Unusual. But it does sounds like a name, I like it!
Hey Bo, I just found this after looking for something for our 3yr old... We got the hydra desktop a few days ago and she's decided that its obviously a joint toy and insists on playing with it anytime she sees it turned on...! These things look just perfect for her... :-)

@@BoBeats that settles it then... Im glad its held their interest... props to ASM for making this thing toddler proof "Look, I can play it with my feet..." but they really need their own asap!
Nice Ikea pillows
got the same for my kids...unfortunately my son (3) is more in my Tenori On and my daughter (9) prefers her pocket operator po32, so it ended up to hang at the moment as audioinput for my lyra 8 :-))

Daddy got a new toy!
It’s a shame it doesn’t record the drums played like a sort of looper function no quantise just 1 bar length loop memory of rhythm play. Then I would buy this. Still looks inviting for the early learners though. Hopefully an update will possibly bring that functionality but if not there’s always circuit bending I guess. 👍
Is it analog tho ?
So cute, Bo! So, how well does the design with the two panels actually work? I noticed at some point in the video your daughter kept standing sideways to the Dato... Don't your kids constantly want to switch places when something cool sounding is coming from the other side?
@BoBeats
4 жыл бұрын
As with kids they cant be controlled. My daughter plays with it a lot by herself. And with an adult she manages to keep to her side. But my baby boy is so small so he does whatever he wants 😂

It's a double purpose unit: Buy it for your kids and use it in your setup :)
Question: does it hold their attention for a while? or is it like a 1 minute and they're tired of it kinda thing?
@BoBeats
3 жыл бұрын
Honestly: its an on and off thing as most toys. But my children have it in the living room and they do pick it up and use it, and when they do they can get stuck for a good 20-30 minutes. I think its about interest tho, and parent collaboration too. Its not just a toy so it requires more
I very much like the idea behind this synth, and how it looks, but I think 330 EUR is pretty steep for what this is. I'll probably settle for Korg Volca.
@Tiger.Arcade
2 жыл бұрын
Which one were you considering of the volcas for your children?
I can't but help to complain a bit about the price. In the day and age, where there are small and affordable synths like the Volca series, Uno series and Craft Synth and whatever, asking around 300e for something they try to market as "synth for kids" is a tough one. Sure, this looks like it can take pretty rough handling without breaking down. But still, the price is hard to swallow. Also a minus for not being battery operated. EVERY parent knows how hazardous cords are with smaller children, so it would've made sense to add a battery compartment, like what Volca, Uno and Craft all have.
@BoBeats

Price is pretty extreme
For 329 euro's, that's a premium price for this low bit noise maker. Considering I've purchased a Korg Triton LE Pro with Sampler for $260 USD, I'll give the Triton to the kids.
OK
6:41 Vide: 'I'm hacking this mofo.......now....where's dad's solder gun?
Using cute kids for likes is cheating!
Hasn't this been around for a while? Like a couple of years any least? I saw it on Andrew Huang the other day and now here with BO. Is this a new model or is it just that they're getting their social media marketing campaign going? Anyway, very cool product. I always liked it but it's just too expensive.

funny enough it was a coincidence that me and Andrew made videos at the same time. I just checked it out at SB19 and thought it was really cool. I knew my kids would love it :D
Lol midi. Excellent
really a shame it doesn't have some basic drum sequencing :(
Lol, I have blonde hair blue eyed children to even my daughter who’s mommy is brown and from Mexico has blonde hair blue eyes ha ha
I'm going to make a child just to purchase it.
How long after the video did she lose interest?

haha, she plays it without me yeah. She just gets annoyed when I interfere with her art
Why not just buy them a Microbrute instead ? ... I mean, it's not that much more "uninviting", but it's a bit cheaper, and a bit clearer on the signal path and musical keyboard :)
@BoBeats

good question, I tested letting my daughter play the ReFace CS and a few other synths which are very simple. And no, she didn't like it or use it as much. Basically the kids played this every day for a week or so, so far. I think its the colors and ease of use with the sequencer that makes it appealing to children.

I suspect that keyboards seem generally intimidating to children as well as most adults ... like something between the lines of: "I don't know how to play ... and I've tried, but I really can't". But when something is not-so-serious looking and a bit toy-ish on the outside, they take it as something that you can get right into it, without needing to have previous training or skill just to have some fun. =)
