I’ve been checking in on Jimmy since his "Test Drive Unlimited - a Lap of the Island (6.9K subs special)" from 2016, which _still_ has only 5.1K views. He was near the bottom depression-wise then, but starting to see the path he was about to embark upon - learning about cars and how to fix them, and making a career out of KZread. He deserves great, great credit for the way he's conquered that depression. (I've done the same BTW, without becoming (or wanting to become) a KZread star, and without ph@rma crap. In both our cases, the secret was probably working hard, and having pride in your work.)

Screw it, show up in America and I'll let you drive my 90's CART/Indycar. Costs half as much as this, but open wheel racing fun that is still very brutal to drive. I've seen enough of you driving silly cars around the burg to know that you wouldn't bin the absolute goodness out of the car.

@@ConnorHammond anywhere from 1-10k depending on how badly things goes not including track rental. Cosworth XD turbo engine, would make around 850 normally around 700 now for reliability as parts need to be custom ordered and not many places can or are allowed to work on it. Lola T9700 chassis with no racing/team history, although confirmed an authentic CART. Auction car that didn't meet reserve then privately sold.

Driving in sunny Portugal in something that cost more than most houses just a few years removed from trying to beat F1 pole times in a tiny shed... it's only because you seem so genuinely humble that I'll tell you how inspirational/motivational your journey has been. Similar to what others have said; I feel like I'm watching a friend succeed in life. Proud of you, Jimmy.

I drove a "normal" street GT2RS on track once and like you said, you hit the gas on corner exit and the car just says "alright you asked for it" with no fuss and away you go. There was a GT3 halfway down the straight when I left a corner and I passed him before we hit the brakes. Truly a remarkably capable machine, I can only imagine what a truly tracked prepped one feels like.

Yup. Had the same deal in an AMG GT3 and a Ferrari 488 Challenge. There’s something about being told that if you break it you pay for it that tends to pull you back from pushing 110%.

Awesome! Though I admit to totally thinking you were just trolling for the first few seconds of the intro. Not sure if the footage has been ever so slightly smoothed and boosted in saturation or something, but that is sooo close to the VR look and feel in AMS2 and I am sure other VR SIMs.
