Our neighbour from kolkata visited gaya where same records are kept where the bengali family found that their ancestors came from kannauj about 400 yrs ago and setteled in 24 parganas in bengal . Thats shook them cause always thought they were bengalis.

Ye shi h bhai. Mere chhota bhai accident me chala gya. Hum pinddaan k liye haridwar pahunche to mere dadaji k pahle 4 peedi tak mere purvajo ka pta chala. Mujhe 2 - 3 naam hi pta the pr waha pe sabke the. Fir kurukshetra me aaye to mere ek tayaji ka beta ho 23 saal pahle chala gya tha jisse humne kabhi nhi dekha uska bhi vivran tha. Hum log isse pta nhi kyu koste h. Ya pta nhi kyu apni Sanskriti ok galat bolte h.

I got knowlege of my 9 generation

Went there last week for my grandmother's Asthi visarjan. I was amazed by these ancestry records. One bad thing i saw is the way these Purohits handle people, felt like pure extortion. This kind of things will push people away from such important Hindu practices.
