So true! I think it's because we thought that good music like this would continue to be made. Boy were we wrong! But at least we have venues like You Tube, Pandora, CD's, cassette tapes, and LP's (remember those?) to enjoy this beautiful music.

What makes the Assoiation so unique is that that had 6 band members doing the voacals for harmonizing. The usual rock group of the era used a lead and backup for harmonizing but the Association could provide multiple layers of vocals for a deep and rich sound. My favorite memory song of the 60's.

Hi Shawn and Mel! It is so nice to see you both today, I have missed you while I was away, and it is nice to be back and I am loving all your new reactions! W hat a wonderful reaction. This song gives me chills, it is so wonderful hearing your comments and knowing that others really get the emotion that the artists were trying to convey in their songs. I saw the Association perform many different times in person! They were phenomenal. I was so fortunate that I lived in LA back in the 70's and early 80's and got to see many of the famous performers of that time live. The Association often came to play at a play called the John Wayne Theater in an amusement park called Knott's Berry Farm. I tried never to miss their shows when they came. The harmonies are so crystal. You are so right though, these songs do speak of a love that we all feel and want deep down, but that the last couple of generations somehow forgot or were never taught to know how to express and believe in. Being able to put the tenderest of feelings into poetry or music is one of man's highest art forms.

Such an amazing song. I’ve been hearing it for over 50 years and it still hits me every time. The line ‘oh i could say i need you, but then you’d realize…’ still gives me goosebumps EVERY time. Yeah. They do not write em like this anymore…

This was probably their biggest seller. Also react if you haven’t already to their song Along Comes Mary which was one of the first songs that made a reference to marijuana.

Shawn was into this from the first strum of the guitars. I grew up on this music. The Association was one of favorite groups. 👍😁

How old were you when you started listening to the Association? I was seven and loved every song they did. Music of the 60s and 70s was the best, but the Association was in a league of their own.

I have to keep reminding myself that your generation of musicians didn't and aren't giving y'all a lot of intimate connection and romance in your music today. So enjoy the oldies. ❤

This group had at least five big hits, but this is the most-remembered one. Try hearing "Everything That Touches You". I'm sure you guys will like it.

Cherish was one of our songs when my future wife and I were dating in the late 60's. Love it.

I was one of your subscribers to recommend CHERISH and would now suggest you dive deeper into the Moody Blues: songs such as "Lost in a lost world", "For my lady", "New horizons" or "Isn't life strange" for some equally beautiful music from the same time period. You won't be disappointed with any of them. Thank you.

I am a long time Moody Blues fan. I find it amazing and sad that many of their songs are still so relevant today. Particularly one of the ones you mentioned, "Lost in a Lost World".

The lyrics, the satin vocal harmonies, the production. Back in a time when love and tenderness meant so much. There has never been a song recorded that tops this.

They really hit the epitome of harmonizing in Cherish, it just rises a rises. I think it was their biggest hit at least I remember it breaking the radio waves over and over again back then.
