It seems that Pieces Interactive have tasked themselves with doing a proper remake of 1992's Alone in the Dark; the bespoke primogenitor of the survival horror genre that we can trace the DNA of many of our favorite games to.
Despite its AA jank I really enjoyed the game for its weird charm and pulpy goodness so with that join me in figuring out just how did Alone in the Dark stole my heart!

Another good review! spooky atmosphere
Very nice review. The game is awesome if you can look past and tolerate it's rough edges. The 2 delays kind of drained any hype and anticipation along with horrible marketing strategy for the game by the time it finally debuted. Though I'm still hopeful the game will be successful thanks to word of mouth for it mostly positive and steadily spreading. I also think the sales target for this game isn't that big. So it's still got a good chance of getting a sequel despite the mixed reception and staff lay offs.

It's definitely one of my favorite games this year so far, did a lot better than I was expecting.
