    damn, the customer did a job on that HDMI port! I have found the HDMI ports to be terrible on the ps5! What i do when i repair them now, is add a dab of 2part epoxy around the port, to the motherboard, Just a very small dab, where the ground / anchor pins are.. Just to give it that little bit of help with strength.. Ive had very good results with this method tbh..

    I must confess frustration with such ungrateful, negligent customers. Most of us, including myself cannot even get a PS5 over a year after release. To put it into perspective i have my original PS1 which me mum bought me in 1996. Even my 25+ year old Ps1 plays discs, has no damaged ports.

  • @TheCod3r

    @TheCod3r

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey mate. I haven't run one on my bench supply yet but I'd assume it's a load issue you're having. It's best to fix the psu if possible. Generally bench supplies can't put out more than 5 or 10 amps so I'd say if you wanted that route of using an external power source a pc power supply would be more realistic by tapping into the 12v rail

    @@John-oo9xu where did i say i used leaded solder i use a higher quality solder than Sony to be more specific nihon sn100c i have never had one of my ports fail or come off the board unless a customer has tried to force something in or bent them i see PS5 consoles all the time that have come off the pads or bent those ports are a weak point and any technician who works on them daily knows that the factory soldering and those ports are not fit for purpose

    I'm on my THIRD ps5. No bs. 1st one went into safe mode and froze indefinitely after rest mode. Second ps5 just magically stopped video output 4 months in. And now I'm on the last one I'll ever buy. It's impossible to reach Sony. I had to sell the broken ones and keep finding new ones. Not happy with this pos console. When it works, it's great. Maybe I'm just a walking EMP.

    Consoles get lot sensetive breaking down. Back earlier days of gaming such NES,SNES , sega mega drive PS2 and 2 and original Xbox if drop them still be working never had any of those break down in my past 30 years of gaming. Time to PS3 , xbox360 came out that when problem s started consoles breaking down even to to newer consoles such ps5 today. Nothing made to last these days unlike the past.
