I left a comment already but the number made was 10. It's literally what the rule was. The car still had to be retired because porsche cried enough to get the rules changed to 100 production models. Why you would say 6 is beyond dumb.

We haven't really had anyone wanting to do anything but go in straight lines quickly, or go in circles fast, since Carroll Shelby. That man put such a spanking on everyone that it permanently changed racing. This BMW M3 GTR is a good example of that.

Porsche was whining about it. Like they do every time they start losing. Bmw met the rules and their car was legal, and Porsche wasn’t happy. And then magically a couple years later the rules changed so that they had to make more street legal versions of the cars than bmw could afford to make. I think Porsche probably had an hand in that.

The dauer 962 went very great, the 97 GT1 wasn't much great on le mans, and the 98 GT1 did great just because mercedes didn't build a car that can last 24 hour. The 959 could have been the one but group B ended too soon

to put into reference how good the V8 M3 GTR was, it was setting lap times closer to the Corvettes in the GTS category above it than the Porsches in the GT category.
