    Is there any statistics for the probability of a MCQ being A/B/C/D, such as the most likely answer across the past exams for if we need to take a random guess with a higher probability of being correct?

  • @chemistrytutor

    Not that I know of. I'd say try to whittle down a question from 4 --> 2 and then if you can't decide then do a 50:50 from there

    from my knowledge its usually C or D but that varies in every paper, so if ur unsure i would guess one of them as they usually have a higher chance of coming up. but usually it's a fairly even split between all 4 options

    Acids and Bases... not really, quite a short question overall. There's normally at least 10 more marks on Acids, so I think that's in my top 3 highest likelihood. Transition metals, yes quite a lot. So that's why it didn't make it into my top 5. But I think those ion tests are a strong shout for maybe a series of MCQs.

    I can't find much on polarity and IMF for chromatography, is it just that if the stationary phase was polar and the moving phase was non- polar then non-polar compounds would pass through the column more quickly? thank you so much for these videos absolute lifesaver !

  • @chemistrytutor

    @chemistrytutor

    13 күн бұрын

    Could do, but I think it's unlikely. There were 10+ marks about organic preparations already, so I think that's a bit much. More likely, they didn't ask about distillation, and that links more nicely to polarity and IMF, but that's still low likelihood, really.
