These Tetras are SO EASY to Breed

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

G'Day Legends,
Today I wanted to do an Ember Tetra Care and Breeding Guide.
Ember Tetras are a fish that I have kept for a good while now but haven't had the chance to talk about.
I definitely recommend picking up a group of them, heaps of fun.

Underrated fish ... but not by aquascapers, who appreciate the pops of orange against the green!

I've got about 12 Ember tetras in a tank with some Cardinals and Rumy nose. The Embers are a beautiful little fish. Like you said, very gentle and active.

I absolutely love mine. I make no effort to breed them at all, but there's always seemingly another little one kicking around. I keep mine at 24c and 7.6ph, and even though there's a bunch of Emerald Danios, pygmy cories, a pleco, several types of shrimp, micro crabs, and more. Even with all that and "non-ideal" ph, they're thriving.

@@madhatterjones4781 either live food or good frozen food, daphnia and baby brine shrimp are excellent. Lots of moss (they're egg scatterers) as it provides safe spaces for the fry to grow without being immediately eaten. Stable water parameters. If everything else is good and you've been feeding them live/frozen food, a big water change can help trigger it too. I have a literal wall of flame moss that fills about a sixth of my 29g tank, and any time you look carefully within it you can find fry swimming about.

i recently found 2 fry in my Kubotai Rasbora grow out tank. I sold 20 of them to someone and he gave me some mosses and he had ember tetras in his tank.. I think the fry came from there as my Kubotai "fry" were under 3 months old(large though). I put the 2 fry in with a new lot of Kubotai fry so i hope they are embers. I will see in a month or so i guess.

Just came across at least three fry that managed to survive. It’s a 20 gallon that is heavily planted and only a group of five ember tetras and three black neons. There are some amano shrimp and a couple otto cats. Do you recommend separating the fry from the main tank?
