Please make an episode on tenebrescent minerals. Such as hackmanite, tugtupite, scapolite etc.

I didn't know Tugtupite and Scapolite were tenebrescent too. I know they're fluorescent and Tugtupite also being phosphorescent.

There is a ghost town/museum where I live in Yuma AZ, called the Castle Dome Mine Museum that offers tours into the Hull mine that has a fluorescent chamber the walls florese 10 different colors under short and mid-wave ultra-violet light. One wall is almost completely red. There is also a huge gem and mineral show near by in Quartzsite AZ every Jan and Feb. I hope you can visit and see the mine and the gem show !

jarringcreations , I will DEFINITELY be checking that out next time I do Quartzite ! Thanks for the info 👍, I love all rocks and minerals but I have an especially soft spot in my rockhounder heart for the fluorescent ones but I have never heard of that mine tour and I only live 3 hours away. That’s why I always read the comments, that’s where you get all the good info !

Peterson Rock Garden, Redmond. OR has a glow room too

!!!! These types of minerals are what got 4 year old me ridiculously stuck on loving all things to do with nature. (Class field trip to local museum, at one point they showed us a room full of beautiful gems and stones, and then hit the lights to UV. I thought I died and went to heaven.)

I really like this episode, viewing the different features of each stone under different lighting! Thanks ladies for the showing!

To all dog lovers, hello. My white German Shepard is a rock hound too. We have the same birthday and on that day we always go rock hunting. Two years ago I found something awesome. He smelled this rock and now digs up awesome all the time!!! Lol

Thank you for doing a fluorescent mineral episode! Fascinating to see. I recognized the zincite/willemite/franklinite specimen as soon as it was unboxed---I've been to the mines and museums in the Franklin/Stirling NJ area, and have a similar specimen myself. Fluorescent Sodalite is another great one.. also called Yooperlite, it's abundant in the Great lakes areas, especially Lake Michigan. The Crystal Collector's channel has some awesome vids of how to find them in the edges of the lake at night with a UV light..definitely loved this video and hope to see more like it in the future

Yuperlights are cool, too.

I bought a black light when I heard about this, so I could test it my Ruby Kyanite spheres… damn I almost passed out when I did it, they got so beautiful! They look like pink neon light bulbs!

I own a raw Ruby gemstone from Thailand,it glows this beautiful red pink rose, color.

Elizabeth: Please look again at the effects of UVA, UVB, and UVC as I think you have it a little mixed. I'm in no way an expert but I live close to the mines in Franklin NJ and am building a display for my collection. As I understand it, UVA (long wave) is not dangerous. UVB is the cancer and sunburn wavelength as it has a short enough wavelength to damage organic chemicals (DNA) and is still long enough wavelength to penetrate skin. UVC can be stopped by almost anything but with it's very high energy it will destroy organics including the surface of skin and eyes. You can buy UVC tubes on the internet with no problem. One of my co-workers put one in his fish tank to kill bacteria and all the fish died.
