I am STILL in shock at the Alien loss, as well as skeleton's last place popularity. I get they're only really popular among western meme culture and as cool villains usually, but I didn't expect them to get less than a fifth of the total popularity! Frye keeps getting robbed by getting great themes then Tricolor swooping in, and I kind of hope they revert the change and bring it back down to 15 points, or at least sixteen, so getting it isn't an instant win card if you get one other major category.

Honestly the Nessie/Aliens/Bigfoot splatfest is the only splatfest I’m still salty about. I don’t understand how aliens lost and Nessie won. I thought Bigfoot had a better chance of winning than Nessie.

​@@kittyblack9256Well as a Apex Legends player as well as a Splatoon player it isn't that hard from my perspective on why Nessie won. Nessie are super cute and honestly usually are shown as cute Dinos constantly in certain parts of Western media so it just makes sense that Nessies won vs Aliens who have been shown in many varties from violent (like in the movies Aliens) to Cute (like this Alien Oc someone made on youtube) to unknown mystery. And Bigfoot is just plain well no one knows nor can confirm it's real at all so of course imo it didn't win or really get popular due to most evidence being fake.

The idol splatfest was the worst ever. Shiver was trending on twitter 20 MINUTES AFTER THE RESULTS. Love the splatoon community 😁

The fact that SHE won the splatfest AGAIN made the community go insane for around 4+ hours I would say (rough estimate) soo. As a member of team frye and a fan of big man, I don't know what to say to what happened.

When i started playing Splatoon 3, my naive mentality was always "Oh, I'll just go with whatever i prefer on a personal level! I like sour candy and i like white chocolate!" But the brutality of this game has shifted how i choose my teams. :,)

Because zombies are more popular in horror/Halloween related media? Or maybe more people like something a little more alive. I honestly don’t really see the appeal to skeletons, I could only name one skeleton character in media that I somewhat like and that is Dry Bones. They’re not that huggable and I imagine they’re quite noisy when walking, would drive me up the wall for sure. I was doubting between zombies and ghosts, so I just counted the amount of characters from each that I like and zombies come out on top 3-2 for me. It was a tough choice for sure though, but I’m glad I chose zombies, just felt right for me when I picked them. I don’t care if we lost, I knew we were gonna lose before picking zombies (saw the polls). It’s about the journey and I value picking the team closest to my preference to fight for, not the one that’ll be the most popular.

My favorite thing about Splatfests is that now Nintendo made the anniversary and the Splatoween more interesting and different. Like with the special costumes for Deep Cut, and for the anniversary’s own solos winning and losing are just really good. I just want Frye to have better choices next Splatfest

That was my first splatfest win. And I have been played in every Splatfest including the rock paper scissors one. I'm so unlucky lmao... 😂

I have a theory: I think Nintendo wanted Frye to win Splatoween from the start. They tweeted out "Zombies, skeletons, or ghosts? Well the answer's quite obvious, only one of them are real!" Obviously talking about skeletons. I'm shocked that Frye still didn't win but I'll take the Big Man W.

the anniversary splatfest will forever traumatize me. i skipped college work just to play that weekend, putting in all of my effort for frye, and seeing lots of love for her on twitter (or so i guess what twitter recommends to me, the only 10 people who loved her), but the fact that shiver won strictly from japanese players who had an ethnical bias against frye for being POC, and picking shiver because shes japanese styled. Everyone COMPLETELY glossed over the leader aspect, and as far as im aware, shiver is the least likely to actually have any traits of good leadership. "splatfests shouldnt be taken that seriously, theyre meant to be fun." its not really fun if the outcome is predictable, and im also just really passionate about the game.

@@jason0942 of course not all Japanese shiver fans hate Frye but many of those who do dislike her because in Japan racism towards anyone who’s not Japanese (or white skinned) is quite common and there’s a lack of laws that prohibit stuff like racial discrimination. Japanese ppl aren’t the only ones who judge Frye by looks, I’ve seen so many (non Japanese) people complain about Frye being ugly/not conventionally attractive like most other idols and who hate her because of that

@@glitchkiddd i see your point and i'm not saying it's not a possibility, i just don't like when people assume that an entire playerbase is racist when they don't have much proof. again, it's possible that it could play a factor in things, but it's not confirmed and i don't think it's healthy to throw around words like "racist" when there's not much proof to back it up. also, for your second point, disliking a character's design and being racist towards it are two different things imo. you can dislike frye's design without being racist.

I think splatfests would do better if it wasn't so linear. Each idol, from left to right, gets their team in the same order. Gear-grub-fun, rock-paper-scissor, vanilla-choclate-mint chip. They're all shiver-frye-big man, with shiver always getting the most obvious choice; the one's that's the safest. They need to mix up the choices more and give some of the unconventional picks to shiver or frye, since big man always gets the funny or less likely picks

It has been well over a year and Frye still has only won a single splatfest 💀 although this last splatfest was pretty close between Frye and Big Man I will admit

I do want to say, yeah now i now why splatfests feel rigged, battleing and doing well in ur region makes you blind to how other regions are doing. I wish that instead of a point sestom with one team getting 00p and another getting 30p, i wish it was more a percentage like a team getting 40% then another having 57% and so forth that would feel more fare to me. instead of seeing you fav team have 00p!!

The idol splatfest will forever live vividly in my mind. That was the splatfest where I was on my favorite idol (Shiver)'s team for the first time (i quite literally had to choose her to be on her team). That was also the splatfest where I was squidbagged half the fest JUST FOR EXISTING ON SHIVER'S TEAM- also, how do you people get so many wins? I see you all talking about 'oh yay my 7th splatfest win' when I'm suffering over here with only three wins...

I've stopped bothering with splatfests a while ago mainly because I'm focusing on other games but also because I knew I'd be setting myself up for disappointment. I tend to lose matches way more during splatfests for reasons I don't know and I've won only 2 (water and sweet).

One year's worth of splatfests down and I still only have 2 wins (Gear and Sweet). Here's to hoping my losing streak breaks soon. 🥲 My favorite splatfest so far is Splatoween. Not only was it a special themed fest, but I also got multiple X battles during it! (Seven 10x and three 100x) Amazing video as always Alpha! 🐯

I’m happy they finally brought them back this time. even if the theme is kinda lame, at least they’re fixing the core problem (well, one of them) of 3’s splatfests.

Tbh, I just felt something special about the test fire splatfest. That feeling of Splatoon 3 being only 2 weeks away.

It sucks because we can't give the countries with more people less effect on the outcome cuz that would literally make people contribute less, so Nintendo just really needs to make some more thought-provoking themes.

I will never not be mad at the white chocolate win especially since half my matches were mirror

Update: FRYE HAS FINALLY WON A SPLATFEST AS OF TODAY. GO TEAM BUCKET LIST

the best splatfest are the ones here there is no clear winner like the Pokemon/Zelda/Anniversary splatfest. the halloween one would of been good but the prompt made it so ghost was clearly the right option.

Tbh, I always went with the themes that were personally my favourites and I'm proud of that. But that could also come from the fact, that I don't have a twitter account (oh no, drama *jazz hands*) or generally don't like when friends *decide* something for me. xD Also hoping that we get Frye or Big Man that Splatfest win in this one! I'll be honest, despite my 3 Splatfest victories (Sweet, White Chocolate & Vanilla Ice Cream), I was sure Team Aliens & Team Skeletons were going to win their fests..... I was wrong. But, Team Vanilla was also the first time I had a taste of 100x Battles. I was on my 3RD Battle of the day when that 100x Battle happened. 0 Festival Shells, 100% Luck and my team came out victorious. At least I won a Splatfest for each Idol. I'm just surprised Aliens & Skeletons did not win their Splatfests. This is a travesty. My second 100x Battle was on Team Big Man, My team won the battle, but, NOT the Splatfest.

My fav splatfest was the icecream one because Me, my Brother, My dads friend son(one of our best friends), and my best friend were playing and nobody AND I MEAN NOBODY could beat us

The Nessie, Aliens, Bigfoot splatfest has been my favorite theme so far even though, yes, I AM still mad about Aliens losing

I wish they would give us an option to skip on mirror matches.

Zombie vs Skeleton vs Ghost was the first Splatfest in my carreer that I got no mirror matches at all. But for me, who chose Zombie, it didn't do me any good! (Also I lost THREE 100x battles.) Regardless, if it was up to me, mirror matches wouldn't even exist! Tell me if you can think of a way to make that work.

The first ever Japanese Splatfest in Splatoon 1 had no mirror matches at all, and there were points where players would queue up for 20 minutes just to find another team to battle. That caused the first NA and European Splatfests to be delayed by a couple weeks

Mirror matches are a sympton of a problem, you see them A LOT in yugioh and WH40K (i play both). In wh40k is less bad because there arent THAT MANY factions to choose from, but many times its Loyalist space marines vs Loyalist space marines because of how much GW publicizes them, in yugioh its mostly because low life loosers need to win at all costs in any situation so they play only THE MOST meta decks in existance, splatoon 3 falls into both, Shiver keeps getting the best or most obvious choice most of the time, doesn't help that people seen to have a hard-on for her, at this point tho someone at Nintendo should've noticed this and fixed it, either that or they have some agenda

i literally forgot splatoween happened, i didn't even play the second half after being subjected to the worst maps in gaming history

After recent splatfest, once again Frye takes an L. The tragedy continues 🗿

Man, the community really hates Frye.

Literally took the day off of work just to participate in the Triforce Splatfest. I don't even play Splatoon that much.

I don’t care about the theme anymore, all I care about is getting ruler +30 (this hasn’t happened but I’ve gotten ruler +23 twice)

I only played two Splatfests... The Pokemon Splatfest, and the Chocolate one, and by the time the next Splatfest came out, my Online subscription expired, and I had no money to renew it, and I was also finishing up high school, so I didn't have time to play Switch games regardless, and so I ended up missing the next 8 Splatfests

I remember me and a friend agreeing that while we have nothing against shiver (he k I love all three of them) I was so happy to see someone else win

Frye deserves better smh, I feel sometimes the options for one of the idols is so specific that people can't relate and thus get a small number of people on that team.

The reason I pick team fun for the 1st one was because you can get your own food on the island and you can make gear to get your own food

Ohh for no particular reason my fave Splatfests have been Spicy vs Sweet vs Sour Power vs Courage vs Wisdom Vanilla vs Chocolate vs Mint Chip

The first splatfest was a mistranslation, it was supposed to say "What would you bring on an island vacation?" Which makes the other teams so much more pickable because the ISLAND ISN'T DESERTED.

And I suspect Shiver's team CHEATED - there is no way they could have won legitimately when our team basically won all the big battles (x100, x333), aside from some won by Big Man's team.

I have not joined in on a single one of the splatfests yet lmaoo

I hadn't been motivated enough to participate in the Splatfest of lately

I didn’t know you could board the float with an individual idol! I’m guessing it’s only on the first day and with the idol that represents your team?

See, unlike the other 4 Team Fun members, I was planning on playing monopoly with crabs and playing poker with sharks; that’s clearly the most optimal strategy! Jokes aside though, as someone that was on Team White Chocolate and Team Nessie, I thought Frye would’ve 100% won! Especially since I had 0 mirror matches on Team White Chocolate- (Can’t really speak for the Zelda one though since I was on Team Courage- but I was still shocked when Frye lost-) I also feel like no one brings up how close the anniversary results were- like we barely won- (Let’s keep in mind that splatfest is about having fun! So don’t bring your spirits down when your team loses! All that matters is if you had fun! ^^)

mine is Nessie vs Aliens vs Bigfoot - win (i was team nessie) Power vs Wisdom vs Courage - win (i was team power) Vanilla vs Strawberry vs Mint Choc Chip - win (i was team vanilla) Money vs Fame vs Love - lose (i was team fame) Shiver vs Frye vs Big Man - lose (i was team big man) Zombies vs Skeletons vs Ghosts (i was team ghosts)

I just played my first splatfest EVER with Friday v Saturday v Sunday yeah so as a Saturday and Frye fan we lost
